to be fair, he's knocked on teh door twice but didn't get the lucky breaks that other schools got. In 2002 I'll go to my grave thinking we were the best team in the country, finishing 13-1. Florida in 06 and 08 and LSU in 03 all had 1 loss but they got the break in the rankings.

In 2007 we finished 2nd while another 2 loss team won the title.

We've been close, just haven't gotten the breaks others have.

Is Richt the coach in the SEC that doesn't like 2 a days?

What does your President Adams think of him? (Richt)

loves him and if he gets the slighted reason to keep him he will. he isn't a PR nightmare, he can control him, and he likes him a person as does anyone really.

i like what the reb fans said early about the Good Ole Boy Network and UGA is all over that GOBN

while this is very true good coaches also can cause their own good breaks. like beating that shitty 2007 USC team or not getting skull fricked by UT

So you dont think winning 10 games and playing in ATL will take him off of said hot seat?

Of course it would. But your phrasing in your other post made it sound like he's not currently in the Budweiser Hot Seat.

la talent wasn't always coming to LSU in that stretch where we didn't win a nc. throw in not controlling our borders and just bad coaching hires and we go as long as we did without a title. Id say LSU fans have been alot like uga fans till recently

the only time LSU didn't control its borders was the 90s.

they've won one national title in 30 years...a lot of you can't grasp how difficult that is. before saban it had been over 40 years since LSU won a title with all that louisiana talent. before Vince Young Texas hadn't won a title since the 60s...and they have the most talent in the nation. the thought that you HAVE to win a national title b/c of location is stupid. it's not that easy.

Great point.

Those teams in the other years got breaks out of their control from other teams losing and the polls falling their way. LSU didn't get the breaks by losing 2 games. 03 LSU and both UF teams lost a game just like our 02 team did. That has nothing to do with them and more to do with others losing, which you simply can't control.

I know it's hard as shite I'm an Auburn fan. but fans think he is getting complacent and the fact that he hasn't won one yet isn't helping.

A lot of people overlook that point NIH. Before 02 it was 68 before Ohio State won it all. Like you said it was the 50s before LSU won one. It is not common at all for teams to just scoop up titles every 5 years.

if he was getting complacent their recruiting would have tailed off...it didn't. they started a freshmen QB in the SEC last year and had a new defense installed...6-7 wins was their ceiling last year. they should be very good in 2010 just as they were in 2007 in Stafford's 2nd year.

i know what you're saying but i still just can't justify losing to the cocks at home that year. we were so much damn better it was unreal.

2002 we just got hosed like you said, 2007 just is hard for me. i think it was part luck but also a lot coaching

not at all. they could and have should have beaten MSU, Colorado, and UCF. 8 wins should have been that clubs minimum. UGA does not have 6 win ceilings, and thats not a bias but a fact

I don't care what the circumstances, 6 wins should NEVER be the ceiling at Georgia. Last year was just the culmination of a lot of shite going bad all in one year. I have no doubt that we will be very much improved this year.
