Why has LSU ducked Southeastern Louisiana since 1949?

Could what happened with Troy be the reason?

Running from your in-state rival for 78 years seems a little odd, any older tiger fans want to explain it?

Afraid to lose "flagship" status in the public eye instead of just on paper?

Honestly, you should ask Bama why they ducked Auburn for 40 years.

They like to claim that it was because the rivalry got too heated, but that sounds like BS

Sorry I'm bored, and I saw you had them scheduled for next year and that you had only played them one other time in your entire history, 1949

Thought that was interesting bit of trivia

No, but there has to be some kind of interesting story associated with why you don't play an in state team for 78 years

The truth is that they suck and there's no animosity between the two schools. Unlike Southwestern who's constantly trolling, nobody thinks of Southeastern. Plus, the Governor has said he wants LSU to play more instate schools to keep the money home.
