Dear sir, are you familiar with a show cause penalty?
Everyone is focused on Lane Kiffin. Will Wade is just as big an issue for LSU. Maybe even bigger than Kiffin.
Will Wade received a show cause for his “damn strong offer”. Ended up on an FBI wiretap embarrassing LSU and the SEC.
And LSU hired him back. And he immediately began recruiting pro players.
I don’t know for a fact that 11 voting members believe that LSU has absolutely earned nothing less than expulsion, but several do.
They just don’t believe the current leadership at LSU is capable of rehabilitation. They believe that if Kiffin, Wade, Ausberry and Rousse remain in power something like this will happen again. Kiffin and Wade have proven they can’t help themselves. And Rousse and Wade have proven that they won’t/can’t proactively reign them in.
They also feel like Landry is calling most of the shots. And he is using the Louisiana court system in open lawfare against the other 15 members of the SEC.
It will cost everyone millions to kick LSU out. But there are people who will vote on LSU’s future who believe it is better to lose this money than have a member continue to revolt against the league.
A week ago LSU fans were screaming that they care nothing about the SEC. They screamed burn it all down. They screamed as long as they win it is worth it.
It seems the SEC has a real problem when a member university has the same attitude. Many feel amputating a cancer ridden appendage immediately is better than allowing it to spread and kill the whole league.
