He'll be on the bench 5 games into the season. Everything he accomplished was due to a down year in the SECw.
This is why 40% of pre-season all-Whatever teams are made up of busts. JD will be another in a ling line of LSU qbs who under perform (Burrow excluded, except in SuperBowls)

Felt like Burrow was running for his life fairly often that year and had to make a lot of plays with his legs.
Agree. But in fairness, LSU rarely gave the OL any help in pass pro, rarely chipping and rarely leaving RBs in to help in protection. Burrow was just uncanny in his ability to find the open guy or buy time with his feet.

Personally, after the way LSUs backup QB performed in the second half of the SECCG, I find myself wondering why Daniels is the starter.
Did you not watch how Daniels performed in the first half (when the game was not yet fully decided)?? 16 for 24 for over 200 yards (and his one interception not even remotely on him). That on a bum leg which completely eliminated his ability to run. Ridiculous take.

If you just compare the 2 in this game which is what you are doing as well it’s not that ridiculous of a take. Coming in down 25 points the team put up more yards, more TD passes, higher YPA, and scored twice as many points as they did during first half.
Williams failing on the 4th &1 at Georgia’s 5, and Georgia then driving 95 yards for a TD more than likely finished it. LSU still answered with its second touchdown in the 3rd quarter with almost 2 minutes remaining in quarter after kicking off to start it. It was pretty impressive, and extended the time before it was obviously over
The exclamation point to it being over was when Georgia hit 50 on next drive, so the 3rd touchdown was when it was definitely considered over.
There was more to season than just this game, but just using this game it is not a ridiculous take.

Its absolutely ridiculous. Unless you're going to conveniently forget LSU was cost points on a special teams bone-headed play in the first half, was cost a drive on a fluke interception that wasn't at all on the QB. And I guess its also not ridiculous if you conveniently forget that Georgia's defense almost surely lost focus and backed off, blitzing much less, playing back-ups for a good part of the fourth quarter, protecting a huge lead (that was built in good part on a bad special teams play that was a ten point swing and a fluke interception that gave Georgia a really short field). It was Daniels' best game as a passer in a LSU uniform, so to use it as a basis to say he shouldn't be the starter is completely absurd.
