It's a liberal arts college; most grads actually don't join the military.

pretty sure both Clemson and SC blow away the Citadel in academic reputation. their engineering college doesn't hold a candle to CLemson and SC.

only employers that like Citadel grads are ones who think going to a military school means a grad is a good leader. lol that is a bogus assumption.

If I was a Clemson fan I would be pretty sick of being in a basketball centric school more or less dominated by a couple of schools in North Carolina

do you mean basketball centric conference?

i don't think ACC is basketball centric. ACC schools invest money in football.

Technically, The Citadel is a liberal arts college where the students are required to take ROTC. Ask me how I know.

I actually have no Idea what that means.

But can you leave the school and get a regular job? or does everyone join the military?

Living up here I've literally never met a Citadel grad.
That said in my industry I've never met a USC or Clemson grad either so thats not saying much.

For a kid like me with an above average IQ yet struggled academically in high school because of A.D.D. it was the only environment that I though I could succeed in. I wouldn't have made it in a regular college with all of the normal college distraction distractions. The fact that we were restricted to campus and had a mandatory 2.5 hour study hall in our rooms every week night with No TV, no Radio etc. was the sort of structure that I needed to be successful in college. That's why I went there.

Only about 1/3 of the graduates actually take their commission after college. I went to get my masters after I graduated.

Yes that's what I meant. The politics in that conference tend to skew towards the roundball. Clemson has always been a football first school no doubt, but your bargaining chips are very recent.

I don't feel like I'm going to far out on a limb when I say the conference is going to favor basketball, when a huge voting block within it all exist in the same state and are all basketball schools.

I hope Tillman loses all of his devices that give him internet access to a tornado so he cannot post on here for a bit.

Nothing else. Just loss of those devices.

Yes. Taking their commission means they go in as a officer. A very, very limited number enlist instead of taking a commission. These individuals are generally interested in specialty areas where there aren't many officers.

For example, I graduated with a guy who enlisted in the Navy instead of becoming an officer because he wanted to go special warfare (Seals) and the wouldn't guarantee that for him.

i don't think any of this true. i think ACC schools on average can just recruit basketball better than football. Clemson has invested a lot of money in basketball including two renovations to the arena the last 15 years.

Clemson has natural advantages for recruiting football, like warmer weather, larger stadium, etc. It doesn't have those kind of recruiting advantages in basketball, and there are a lot more programs competitive in basketball compared to football.
