Was it maybe losing to Rider?
Rider had a better RPI than LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, and many other high profile programs.

Minnesota beat Butler, Purdue, Michigan St, Illinois and Clemson I believe. Who did State beat?

Ok, so Minnesota had better wins than State. I don't know who they lost to, but State had some pretty bad losses. Obviously Rider, but losses to Auburn and Alabama in league play are bad losses in the eyes of the committee.

Well-all I know is this-Miss State beat the 23ed ranked team (Vandy) in the semis and took the number 2 team to the wire in OT plus beat Florida-all on a neutral court. State finished 23 and 11 making it to the finals of the SEC. Florida was 21 and 12 losing to state early in the tourney. Yes-Minn made it to the finals but if they were truly on the bubble-the 30 point drubbing should have tipped the scales away from them. The same can be said for Florida....State had a better record-beat them in the tourney on a neutral floor and made a much better case to be there with their run vs Kentucky.....

So State beat Florida and Vandy to get to the finals of the SEC tournament and Minnesota beat Purdue and Michigan St to get to their conference final. Who wins?

state also had a better record than florida against tournament teams.

All I'm saying is that Minn got drilled-by 30 points....at least State made a game of it against probably the best and most talented team in the country. If Minn would have at least be competitive-I would not have an argument...but come on...30 point? Again, if you're on the bubble-a big loss such as that should have burst it!

Minnesota lost to Indiana (RPI 221) the big 10's LSU, Mighican (RPI 130) twice, Northwestern (RPI 117)

You had UK beat and you couldn't close... plus LSU should have beaten you in BR. Your luck ran out.

The committee doesn't take into account the Big Ten Champ game. That's why we were the last two seed and got stuck with Kansas. They probably saw it was a 3 point game at halftime, and that was the last time they evaluated.

Jay Bilas made a good point, though. You're not going to come close to winning the NC, so it really doesn't matter if you're in or not.

Neither is Ohio State! Won't make the final four.

Miss St should have been in the tourny. They are my pick to win the NIT, if they play like they did today.

Maybe, maybe not.
Regardless, Miss St had no chance, so there's no need for them to complain.

For me its wondering how Florida got in, especially as a 10 seed.10 seed? I guess they weren't even on the bubble after all. What makes their resume so good besides a Michigan State win back in November? That win isn't even that great anymore. Vandy is a better win than that. I just want somebody to provide evidence on where UF deserved to be a lock?

Two words.

Why did Mississippi State not get in over Minnesota?
I think it has to do with the fact that State sucks.
