the revenge factor goes away in a rematch when your players tell the media that you were the better team, ESPN tells you that you are the better team and everyone on ESPN picks you to win the bowl game. This is LSU/UGA 2003 all over again.

After this long of a layoff, the advantage goes to the best defense and who can run the ball the best. And since both lsu and alabama have good rbs, i think it's fair to look at who will stop the run better. I feel this is a definite advantage for alabama, and i just don't see us running the ball well at all. You can forget the option, ain't happening. all that is left is misdirection and trickeration which will only work so much and take us so far.

their D is senior filled with blue chips. I can only imagine how hungry they are right now, and inversely the mental state of our team. I really feel this is a huge advantage for alabama, and it really sucks we get rewarded with such a huge disadvantage. But it is what it is, and they are the best.

ultimately, i don't have that much confidence in our offense against their defense. I think one of the main reasons lsu and miles has don't so well in bowl games is because we have always had the better defense (by far, most of the time), that will totally not be the case this time.

I feel for us to win, we will have to keep it close enough and hope they make some mistakes. I think the team that capitalizes the most on mistakes will win. I don't see our offense putting up much points, i feel our defense will have to score along with special teams to win.

People keep saying this will be a higher scoring game. I disagree, the defenses will dominate (like they should), and who ever makes the least amount of mistakes wins.

It will be a damn near repeat of nov 5th. And i have no IDEA who will win.

penalties/mistakes/turnovers will be a factor, but no one can say how that will play out, so it's a wash.

I think that the O and D are practically washes. ST advantage obviously goes to LSU. Just like on 11/5, that's a huge deal.

On O:
If I had to give a slight edge, I'd give it to Bama. I think McCarron has been more consistent, but I don't think he has the potential upside Jefferson has, but of course, UGA Jefferson could show up. I give a larger advantage to LSU at the receivers, but of course that is all contingent on Jefferson being able to get it to them. At RB, I personally give the edge to Bama because TR is the better back. But the 4 deep at RB has been an advantage, and that could favor LSU.
Slight advantage Bama

On D:
You can't argue against the Honey Badger and Morris Claiborne. They will be hands down the best defensive players on the field in this game. I think LSU's speed will be a factor being that it's a turf game. But Bama also has a strong and deep defense.
Slight advantage LSU

On ST:
Brad Wing and Drew Alleman are head and shoulders better than Bama has to offer. Wing consistently gave LSU the field position advantage that allowed Bama to out gain LSU and still never sniff the red zone until OT when they were spotted on the 25. People always say "Bama outgained LSU and they dominated them." What they forget is the fact that LSU never had to go as far to get into similar positions as Bama did. LSU was also inside the 5 and in the red zone, something Bama cannot say. This was because of the superior special teams from LSU.

Couple all of this with the fact that LSU will have at worst a 55/45 or 60/40 crowd split on the speed of the dome turf, I say LSU wins by less than 7.

Am I "confident?" Yes. But of course I acknowledge that Bama is good enough to beat LSU on any given night.

If the teams play 10 times in 10 weeks, I think that it's a 6/4 or 5/5 split.

So anything can happen, and

see i look at it a bit different.

Their offense vs our defense advantage LSU

our offense vs thier defense advantage BAMA

special teams advantage LSU

Bama is as sound fundamentally as you will find, but LSU might be one of the most explosive teams i have ever seen.

Everyone talks about how much these teams are alike, i disagree. Bama and Lsu are NOTHING a like, two completely different teams, players, philosophies and strategies.

Nope, computer paper. I couldn't find the scissors so I used the old tried and true, "fold paper and lick the crease" method
