Well I see where you’re coming from. And I agree that limitless spending on anything is wrong.
The question the led me to think this way was whether or not the good intentions of the assistance programs were in fact being helpful. Sure they allow people to get what they otherwise wouldn’t. But we aren’t changing their behaviors. They are receiving something for having done nothing. Which can only lead to what we know as the perpetual generation after generation being dependent upon government assistance. They will never make the decisions to make themselves better because they don’t have to.

Eh, not always the case. I grew up pretty poor, mom had to have some assistance when I was younger. College grad now, high paying job, married up, etc
In large I agree with you, but you likely just don’t know many people who required assistance. I do. Many of them wouldn’t have gotten out of their situation without it.

Yeah, there are a lot who have been on it and gotten off of it. They used the assistance for what it was intended for. However there are so many that have been reliant upon it for generations. We are not helping them by continuously allowing them to receive assistance without them actually making any changes that would result in them moving in a direction that would end their need to rely upon assistance. I don’t mind helping people, but I do believe that we should acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Because even though the overall winning percentage highly favors Alabama .. since 2000 (after the terrible 90's) the series is 10 to 9 in favor of Bama. We got a taste of the good life for a bit .. lost it for a bit .. and want it back.
