Ole Miss is closer than Fayetteville for the majority of South Arkansas fans, and Starkville is closer for some, anything around El Dorado it's not much farther to Baton Rouge than Fayetteville.
No offense, but I don't see this as a good REASON to continue playing games in Little Rock. That school(Arky) is so engrained into the culture of your state that the distance does NOT matter. It's the name and tradition that matters. Arkansas people grow up Razorbacks at the highest loyalty percentage than any state in the country(rivaled only by LSU/La). It's been that way for generations, and it has little to do with the location of a game. You play all home basketball games in Fayetteville now don't you? Has it hurt the support of your basketball program? How about your baseball program? Hasn't effected that either has it?
You could move all the games to Fayetteville, and if there is ANY change in this dynamic, it will literally take generations to see it. Not many players are leaving Mississippi to play nowadays, and we quit playing in Jackson 22 years ago. About 70% of the entire population of Mississippi reside closer to Baton Rouge than to either Starkville or Oxford, including the capital city of Jackson.
I also don't get the "alienation of fans" angle either really... If the stadium is always full in Fayetteville, then what do you actually lose? Some Razorbacks may get their panties in a wad, sure... but what are they going to do? Convert loyalties to LSU? So it's not like they really have a choice! Sure, I bet you'd lose some money in private donations, but enough to offset the additional money you make in the(soon to be) 80,000 seat stadium with the most premium seating in the country vs a 50,000 seat stadium with practically ZERO premium seating? I seriously doubt it...
At some point soon, a cold, hard decision is coming on this one.

Part of the reason it became ingrained into the culture of the state is b/c Little Rock games allowed the whole start an easier method to participate in the Razorbacks.

Traditionally, Arkansas has played games in Little Rock. Little Rock used to host 3-4 games a season even.

Apples and oranges. But the baseball and basketball teams do in fact play a game in LR.

You're right, and I bet that decision will be to keep at least one game in Little Rock.

We still play a basketball game in LR
And for the last 3 or 4 years we have had a baseball game in LR as well.
I don't think it would have a big effect though. You'd have some butt hurt fans that would probably get over it in 2-3 years. I just don't think leaving a game a year in LR would hurt anything and would be a good will gesture towards fans in southern and eastern Arkansas.

Engie, some can't see the forest for the trees.
I love the LR crowd that proclaims they've already sacrificed 1 game. The recruiting dissadvantage by playing more than once a year is too great for any argument to overcome. In current fiscal and competitive situations the answer is blatantly clear, JL will play it smart and he's making the right changes little by little.

Presently, we're playing these LR games for traditional reasons more than anything else. Years ago, there were many other reasons for doing so and Razorback Stadium wasn't equipped for night games. Plus, both stadiums were similar in capacity. I don't think that changed until around the time we entered the SEC. Until then, we had to play day games...or play in Little Rock.
It's not that way now but it really went on much too long IMO, and people around the state became accustomed to more games being played more closely to the majority of the instate fan base. Also, I'm guessing that there was a significantly larger ratio, at the time, in regard to our out of state fan base/alumni being from the Dallas/Fort Worth area. It's still large.
Until recent years, the only town in Northwest Arkansas with a significant sized population and fan base was Ft. Smith. This is no longer true and the fan base from Northwest Arkansas wants everyone to know it.
...and that's OK.

Oh come on, there is no practical difference not to mention Mallett has numerous Arkansas ties in his childhood. Also you said our "recruiting base" sucks, and I'm pretty sure the TX half of Texarkana is in our "recruiting base".

I'm all for the U of A to move more games to Fayetteville, but I selfishly hope they wait a few years so that it won't affect my property value. Also, living half a mile away is great for tailgating.
