re: Why are Georgia folks so mad, bitter and vindictive of Alabama's football team?

Yet you are proving otherwise by having to go back to 2006 to find someone who almost had a run as good as Kirby is having. Your insecurity now has you arguing against yourself.

Do you think that has anything to do with Alabama winning 6 of them between then?

No, but feel free explaining your answer.

I won't indulge in the Bama vs. UGA arguments but will call this line out. Even before the SECCG, bama fans were talking about Ty's regression, the offense becoming too 1-dimensional etc. Even mentioning how the same thing happened last season. I'm not sure what to be worried about tbh

The best thing Bama could do imo is beef up their OL. Ty Simpson & Bama's WRs are simply too good to stop when they have time, even more than an average group. All 3 losses have been against good DL performances.

I meant as a direction of the program.

When it comes to offensive lineman and running for example, he likes to pull them to the edges, so he wants faster athletic guys. Where as you know with Saban and our traditional way, it was a lot about having big guys and powering forward. He likes to move them around and create blockers in space.

So yeah, you are right when it comes to our problems this year. We have been one dimensional all year long. Speed rushers on the edge are a big issue we've been having. And it's also preventing longer developing plays from having a chance. For whatever reason, there should be an open man on these blitzes and Ty just isn't finding them. His accuracy has also been questionable lately.

And then a lot of that has to do with the defenses we've been facing. Going by F+, here are the defenses we played since our bye:

#8 LSU
#4 Oklahoma
#12 Auburn
#11 Georgia

That was pretty brutal. And of course we go play #4 Oklahoma again. The good thing about that game is we'll know pretty quickly if Alabama has addressed the issues or not. If they do, they have a good chance this year. If not, on to the next.

So far we only have 1 recruiting class under DeBoer and all those players are true freshmen this year. And we are recruiting well, so he should be getting the kind of players he needs.

Technically Alabama did it 3 times between them.

Much better to let the idiots start the threads else you automatically become one when you do it yourself.

because you don't understand the differences between power rankings and season rankings.

Oh? And you think Alabama has a better Power ranking than Georgia right now?

I'm not surprised concepts such as the amount of change and differences between systems doesn't factor in for you.

And yet we went from Mark Richt to Kirby Smart. You seriously believe their philosophy, defense, offense approach is similar?

As for Georgia in 2017, you made the championship because you played in the SEC East

Well, we did beat the west champion. You can down play it all you want, but we played the best team from the west and beat them....handily. Almost as badly as we beat Alabama Saturday.

and if they had taken the 2 best teams in the conference the way they did this year, you wouldn't have even made the SECCG, it would have been an Alabama vs Auburn rematch.

Yep, and if the system was the same as it was this year, we still would have made the playoffs, so what is your point?

Go ahead and keep grasping at straws. It's amusing.

Who was prevented from building a powerhouse because of this? No one.

I never said anything close to that. How in the frick did you even come up with this as a response to what I said?

You went from a 3-4 base defense....to a 3-4 base defense. And very similar offenses as well in terms of the type of players you want and would recruit. IIRC, didn't the defensive transition at Georgia happen under Richt as he changed at one point?

Yes, you beat the team that had a major injury in the rematch. I'm sure that's just a coincidence

You lost in the playoffs that year....

The dude played in the game and had ZERO room to move up the field. HIs hurt shoulder isnt why the room disappeared.

One of my best friends is a Georgia fan. It bothers him greatly that I wasn't in shambles over the loss. That game meant a lot more to the Georgia fanbase than the Alabama fanbase. There was a lot of pent up emotion towards Alabama that erupted out. I get it. In their minds (and to be fair, others as well) they've been the pinnacle of the sport since 2021 or so, but Bama has still owned them. That allowed imposter syndrome to fester

Yes of course, as I said I'm sure it's just a coincidence.

You appear to be arguing that the room disappeared because of his SHOULDER, which proves you dont understand football well enough to be discussing it in this manner.

No I was agreeing with you. I've never in my life seen where a RB needed their shoulder and they always go down at the first sign of contact.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence and had no affect on the game or how it was played. Auburn for sure kept their normal game plan and did nothing to compensate for it, Georgia was just better.

For one it wasn't a brag, and secondly it appears that isn't unique to him in the Georgia fanbase.

I understand it, I do. Y'all were denied the schadenfreude. You got the ice cream sundae, and it was delicious, but it would have been a little better with the cherry on top

He had his shoulder. The lack of room wasn’t because of his shoulder. It was a blocking issue, but you don’t seem to understand the importance of the trenches.

Yeah, over 70 yards after contact aren't a real thing. And I'm sure his receiving abilities also weren't affected. It's not like he didn't make any big catches against you for a 55 yard TD in the first game or anything.

Come on guy. Just say it after me - injuries are part of football, shite happens. You don't make big runs in college football without a bit of injury luck. And then - stop trying to exaggerate the significance of them.

This is what Kirby has done to the bama fan base.

I approve.
