LSU is getting the hype because of the name on the front of their jersey and not because of the skill level of their squad this season.

LSU is getting the hype because their HOF coach is retiring and they’re on a Cinderella run of sorts when everyone counted them out. Most fans like stories like that just like they enjoyed FSU making one last run to Omaha with Mike Martin in 2019 as a 3 seed. No one is hyping LSU because they think they’ve had a better season than UT or even because they’re a better team. It’s because people like storylines like this. And the team clearly seems to be coming together at the right time.

I get it, but that's all that it is at this point. A story line. It's the final chapter to an incredible career for a great coach.

Emotions are one thing. Analytics and results are another. Tennessee has both and plays with as much passion as any team in the country due to taking on the personality of their HC. The game being in Knoxville helps UT in this situation the same way that it did when the two teams played their series earlier in the season imo.

Admittedly there's a lot to unpack in this match-up and I think it delivers for the viewers.

Tennessee.

Vitello will view this series as a job interview.

LSU is the best job in the country. I don't think you'll find anyone arguing that.

I honestly think in every interview he has done and said since the SEC tournament, meets his request, he will stay. But we are Tennessee.

LSU is hot right now but not sure we have the pitching if it goes to 3 games

Considering LSU just came out of the losers bracket to win 4 straight I’d have to disagree with you there.

I honestly cannot wait to watch this series.

Gut tells me LSU.

Good luck to both!

A lot of bumped threads and shite talking till next baseball season regardless of the winner

And regardless, LSU has made it further than some and further than most fans/posters thought they would... including myself

Have we looked at the rulebook?
Is there any way that both teams can lose?

I'll pull for the Tigahs, I guess, as much as that pains me. But Tenner should win.
