I was at that game. Only game I've ever been to in Oxford.

LSU stormed back in the 4th quarter and scored 21 unanswered to send the game to overtime. Otherwise, it was a pretty miserable day. Ole Miss had a 28-10 lead at the half. Our defense (Tepper!) was horrible and gave up nearly 500 yards.

After all these years I still recall being pissed off for two reasons:

1) Abram Booty had this awful habit of heading for the sideline immediately after a defender came within five yards of him. One of the many reasons I hate the Booty brothers. The next year I found a new reason to hate them when Josh Booty failed miserably as time expired at Alabama.

2) Some fat arse cow was yelling "Hotty Toddy" in my ear the entire game. We unloaded on her at the end of the 4th quarter when we tied the game. Found out she didn't even go to Ole Miss but was a Delta State student or alum.

Yes and move the Alabama/Tennessee game back to the Third Saturday in October on a permanent basis while we're at it.

I agree and was all your it, but I must admit I do enjoy the fact that it the week before Thanksgiving(I take the week off) and it makes it easy for a road trip to Oxford.

It's nice for tradition's sake, but I like the bye week prior to the Bama game and the November stretch run.

This I agree with most. I want to say absolutely move it back to Halloween, but I do like have the bye week before Bama

I'd hate it. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Growing up in New Orleans, we always had so many great parties and concerts on Halloween night. I wouldn't want to sacrifice that.
