With our D, we don't need to be an offensive juggernaut

Not to be competitive, but to win the East I think you need the offense to drastically improve (difficult) and your corners will have to be replaced (not so difficult). Even if it was something similar to 2012, it still wouldn't be enough to win the East (that was proved in 2012).

I'm not saying you can't go anywhere from 10-2 (which I see as the ceiling) to 7-5 (which I see as the floor, barring injury bug), I'm just saying I don't expect you to win the East given the inherent issues on your team and the schedule.

You play 8 conference games in a row.

Kentucky
@ Bama
OPEN
@ UT
LSU
Mizzou
OPEN
UGA in Jax
@ Vandy
South Carolina

That's a murderer's row that was unfortunately set up poorly. You can probably chalk up @ Bama a loss and Kentucky/@ Vandy wins. The other 5 are, at best, toss ups, that (if I were a UF fan), I'd plan on losing at least 2 of.

We didn't lose both corners.

I agree with most everything you said. I have hope that we can be more efficient on offense and win 9 games including #10 in a row over UT.

If we don't win 9 and lose to UG, I want Boom fired.

Whoopty shite. I'm a member at Sea Island. Smoltz doesn't live there by the way. And how exactly does the Ford Plantation make you country?

You're so full of shite. Again, I can see why you didn't even sniff a chance at going to Athens.

Not his fault they don't have a big east championship game. Therefore he still has 3 big east titles. Quit crying. You should be more worried about that blind mule y'all follow.

both

As much nickel as is played around the league, you may as well call 3 CBs starters. You lost two of them, correct?

I realize VHIII is still there.

I think what would go a long way toward a turnaround would be an emphasis on fewer TOs on offense. Yeah, it would probably be an ugly, ball control offense, but that's what you need with that D IMO.

I have to ask the questions:

(1) He goes 8-4 but beats UGA, what happens?

(2) He goes 9-3 but loses to UGA, what happens?

How does Ford Plantation make you country? Maybe cuz it's in a small lil country town called Richmond Hill, GA. John Smoltz does own a house in the Ford Plantation btw. Keep chirpin...

Mizzou - Lost a ton of talent on D. Further, I personally think they will only compete for the East once every 3-4 years. In addition to that, I think Mauk is the worst QB of the three "new" QBs at UGA, USCe, and Mizzou. He only started one game against a bowl eligible team and he lost. His completion percentage, in those 4 games, was less than 50%

Sure, Mizzou lost some talent on D, but some say replacing the talent on O may be more difficult. Last year, we rotated 4 DEs regularly; some analysts thought Sam was 4th in that group. We had 2 freshmen that saw time at DT, and with their experience they'll be better. I think our DL play won't see a drop, really; the secondary is a question, but it's unknown, not necessarily bad. There will be a lot of young players who saw time last season, just didn't start.

On O, line play should be good again; we return 3 starters and several more that saw plenty of time. I expect we will see at least 1, maybe 2 true freshmen receivers play - Nate Brown and Lawrence Lee would be my guess. And as far as QB, Mauk is the favorite, but it's an open competition. RSFr Eddie Printz should challenge him, the coaches are very high on him.

My guess is that Mizzou will be in the top 3, but South Carolina should be the favorite based on the kinder schedule.

Believe it or not some people see Athens as a boring shythole. Not for everyone I guess.

He only coached 3 years in the Big East as a HC. One year he went 4-8. Your statement is an impossibility.

He won 2 and was o-coordinator for 1. Whatever. The man has proven he can win. I know it's the big east. But you got to start somewhere like Meyer at utah..

I'm most interested to see how Mizzou recovers from losing their 2 best pass rushers and their best corner. That's usually a bad combination. I realize some others got time and experience, but that doesn't mean they are as talented as Ealy, Sam, and Gaines.

It's kind of how I feel about JHC being booted from UGA. I understand the decision and we have guys who got experience back there at SS in 2014, but none were as talented at JHC. Even with the experience, I expect a bit of a drop off from a production standpoint (tackles, turnovers created).
