Yo cool. it's not like uga would have called a TO. They would have clocked the ball and remained in position to run the next play. No time for bama to sub out. Dawgs at LOS set to run next play. UGA doesn't sub out bama doesn't either.

No doubt. When Mett is slanging the ball around on your secondary , they're suspect.

Just stop. It's common knowledge that ypc go down as your carries go up. This is peewee football knowledge stuff. Come on.

Then don't act like it's not possible for UGA to do to LSU.

Seriously? No. You can't be. have you EVER played football. On any level at all? Sure it CAN make them go down over a small sample...but man. To make a blanket statement like that? Wow. Just.......wow.

I really couldn't believe this was said. I still don't. Georgia Tech must average somewhere around 1.5 yards a carry using his logic. Shoot. I wonder how Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, USC, Alabama and yes, LSU survived back in the 70's and 80's when EVERYBODY ran the ball MOST of the time.

Yes I played football at a higher level than you. If you don't know common shite like ypc going down as your carries increase, then you don't know shite about football. AGAIN, this is why there is a minimum carries # when looking at SEC YPC records.

A rbs has 1 carry for 50 yards. His ypc is 50 yds. He has two more carries for 10 yards. After one carry his ypc was 50. After 3 carries his ypc was 20. See the simple math used.

So:
LSU - more TOP , more rushing yards, more passing yards , better 3rd down converting = advantage UGA? Wow you're blatantly saying this or you're dumb. Also we aren't talking about winning the games. We are talking about offensive production.

Offensive productions between the two is close. The biggest thing that you appear to skip over is that LSU held the ball nearly twice as long as Georgia yet scored fewer points. Both teams had a passing touchdown. Georgia had one more rushing touchdown. Both teams had a missed field goal. It looks like Georgia could score more points in less time.
quote:

The point of this is UGA fans saying their offense was an will be GREAT. Which it's not. They broke 300 yards of offense once against UF, USC AND BAMA. ONCE. is that a sign of great offense to you?

There's a difference between "will be" and "was". Last year's offense wasn't that great, but Georgia fans are expecting it to improve this season because they practically return the whole offense along with key players whom didn't play the entire season.

quote:

If you don't know that USUALLY ypc go down with attempts, you don't know football. PERIOD. this is the reason there is a minimum carries in the SEC ypc record book. Come on. If a rb has one carry for 50 yards his ypc is 50yrds. Do you think that goes down with more carries?

I'm a little confused as to which side is right, but your argument kinda makes sense to me. Total yardage has a few big plays mixed in which can skew the statistics. If a team runs for 150 yards on 25 attempts, then that's 6 yards per carry. However, what if one of those runs was 25 yards? Then it's 125 yards on 24 attempts. More attempts lessens the effects of big plays in the stats.

Upvote.

And if that same running back gets stuffed for a 3 yard loss is it going backwards the rest of the game? Good googly moogly man...come on! They have minimum carries because it CAN skewer the numbers.....but not because it HAS to.

And you seriously have never heard of the concept that MANY of the greatest running backs say that the more touches they get in a game the better they get. Riddle me this Batman. In the 2008 game, did LSU's YPC go up or down in the second half? Remember now...LSU had ZERO first downs in the first half.

Or In game one Gurley rushed for 100 yards on 10 carries. His ypc is 10yrds. Do you think over a season Gurley's ypc is gonna go up higher than 10 or get lower?

You played at a higher level than me? And you know what level I played at? Or are you just making blanket statements again? You have no idea who I am or at what level I played at....and the chance are VERY good that I played at a MUCH, MUCH higher level than you ever dreamed of playing.

But go ahead and shower us with your superior knowledge, please?

I'm done. I think he has made himself clear that he knows nothing about what he is talking about.

Good god. I'm not saying ypc CAN'T GO UP I'm saying usually yards per carry GO DOWN WITH MORE CARRIES. shite man. I stated this already. If you think I meant ypc NEVER GO UP then you're stupid.
