Well...we could start the "He did it with Saban's guys" and stuff like that, but really? They are both great coaches. I like them both, but given a choice I would take Richt. But that is because Miles seems to have more "HUH?" moments than Richt does. But, admittedly, Richt's do come at crucial moments. (Alabama) No disrespect to Miles...it's just a personal preference.

Well sir there aren't too many dawg fans in this post giving any respect to the '13 LSU "D". Most are saying tigers LOST all their talent from the '12 "D". A lot of people just don't realize how young LSU was in the back seven last year.

You're comparing a season worth of stats
I can cherry pick common games if you like. Auburn, Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss. Except for Alabama, UGA outperformed LSU against common opponents.

I knew our TEs didn't have many receptions but, I didn't think our RBs had that many.
Look for both those numbers to increase. Cam has involved TEs and RBs in his passing game everywhere he has coached.

Yes. However due to the SEC scheduling office the majority dont have to worry about having 3/5 of their oline leave during a 3 week stretch that of the two best teams in the east and the Heisman winner that all combined for 31 wins.
Good Lord quit fricking whining.

It's not just Georgia people. All the rest of the SEC sees in the juniors declared number but they don't realize:
#1 The "juniors declared" number that people keep talking about includes 2 third string or worse running backs, a punter, a tackle that didn't play a down for us last season, and a defensive lineman that openly admitted to taking plays and games off.
#2 We return 34 of 44 on the 2 deep
#3 We return more starters than Texas A&M and the same as Alabama
#4 We played the 2nd most freshmen the country last season

I actually think some of the UGA fans (at least I am) are taking exception to the LSU fans who believe their front 7 will cause UGA to have trouble moving the ball on the ground. I don't think I'm going out on much of a limb when I say that both the UF and Bama front 7 from 2012 will be better than what LSU puts on the field for their front 7 in 2013.
Gurley against:
UF -- 27 attempts, 118 yds, 1 TD
Bama -- 23 attempts, 122 yds, 2 TD
Oh, and Richt has already stated that he intends to integrate Keith Marshall much more in the offense this year.
And, yes, every single player from the OL, TE and FB groups return.

Well. They DID lose a lot. Look at how many they lost. But, they ALWAYS put a good defense on the field. Hey, it is what it is. The question isn't IF they will be good. The question is how good will they be? Nobody knows. Not Georgia fans, not LSU fans and not even the teams themselves know just how good they will be. Nobody knows until they face other teams. You might THINK they will be great. And some people might THINK they can't possibly replace all that talent...but we won't know until sometime in late October late November.
We have a pretty good idea about Georgia's offense because they all come back. We'll have to wait and see how the Georgia offense stacks up against the LSU defense. THAT, my friend, is what makes this a must see game worth debating, right?

See what I mean? The disrespect is pretty incredible but after a whole offseason of it I guess I'm used to it by now. There will be a lot of surprised people around the conference and the country.

I LOVE it when teams dump passes off to explosive running backs. I'm hoping Georgia does a bit more of this in 2013. I would like to see Marshall, in particular, match up with some defensive backs one on one in an open field.

Just stating facts. People are underrating Mett because of that 3 week stretch without acknowledging the full story. The USC game we ran one pass play essentially-slants. During that stretch we continually had to keep our TE and RBs in to protect and were running 1 and 2 receiver routes because we couldnt protect. We threw freshman into the fire during that stretch and they held their own. From then on the offense, passing game in particular, performed very well.

That's not disrespect!!! REALLY? I wish Georgia's front seven could be put in the same category as Alabama's and Florida's! By many accounts those two teams had the best defenses in the nation last year! Come on, man! Quit being so defensive. (Pun intended)

You showed up a little late to the party, pal. I've already stated in this thread that I expect LSU's D to reload, but I don't see them being as strong in the front 7 as UF and Bama were last year.
Who's rushing the passer for yall this year, btw? Am I reading correctly that you're top 5 sack getters are now gone? And you're leading returners are two DTs and a SS?
Interdasting.
ETA: Fack, Bennie Logan is in the league as well. So 1 DT and a SS?

No. People downplay Mett because he had seven games, COUNT "EM, SEVEN with less than 200 yards passing. That's is NOT good. That COULD be because the coaching staff did not allow him to throw more....but if they did not, you have to ask yourself, "Why didn't they allow him to throw more?"

Uh Jordan Allen and Ego Ferguson? Unless one of both get beat out which is a possibility.
We're LSU. We lose great players every single year. And every single year we end up being just fine. There is no reason to think this season will be any different.

So your opinion of Florida and Alabama is low, then? Amazing.

Are we supposed to believe your front seven that lost its entire starting d line, Jarvis jones, alec ogletree is supposed to be better?
The same front seven that gave up 350 yards rushing to bama?

Our whole offensive system has been sort of out of whack the last few years since Krags got Parkinson's with the O/C making a call and the Head Coach making a call. Just a lot of inconsistency in terms of philosophy. They say that Cam has cleaned this up but I understand why people would take a believe it when I see it approach.
I think after 2011 we did so well anyway Les decided well it didn't really hurt the results so why change anything for 2012 but now understands that without a better offense we're not going back to the BCSCG which is the goal for us every single year and the expectation that's put on him by the fanbase,
They are saying we're going to run tempo and shoot for 80+ snaps a game which if true certainly represents a major change of thinking which is very encouraging. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

LSU has been to ATL less than UGA from 2008 to 2012 and they have the same number of national championships. Come on, guy, get real.
