Who will finish last in the West?
Most likely us, A&M, or Arky

State or LSU. I'd be convinced it is gonna be LSU if their schedule wasn't so easy.

Arkansas led the conference in 2011 at a 36.8 clip and LSU was second at 35.7 points per game.
It should be noted that LSU scored an absurd nine non-offensive touchdowns in 2011.
LSU was the #1 offense in points scored by the end of the regular season, after the SEC Championship Game.
As you know, LSU scored 0 in their bowl game. I'm sure Arkansas scored a lot more.
ETA: nb4 bowl game stats count towards the season totals. I know this.

All I'm trying to say is that Mett was good in 2013, but not as great as LSU fans make him out to be.
That's literally it.
then what are you even trying to argue? all LSU fans did ITT initially was say Mettenberger turned around the LSU offense. Comparatively speaking, he did. Yet you went rabbling on for pages upon pages to basically agree with that assessment ultimately...

I wasn't arguing with you.
LSU had an effective offense in 2011 and the four-headed monster at RB was intimidating.

But y'all have taken it to hyperbole, if not in this thread, it has been rampant almost all off season with your Chavis butthurt. As much as Mett helped your offense, and it must have been confusing for you swamp kittens to see a half way competent offense, y'all have somehow gone off the rails and thought your offense was better than your defense that season, and based on almost every metric available, that clearly wasn't the case.

You may have done it in this thread, but, in the past, y'all have argued to the contrary.
And no I don't bookmark trivial threads so don't even ask for a god damn link.

stopped here. it wasn't in this thread, so why are you trying to move the goal post and create an argument about nothing that has been discussed?

Well, like I've said, I'm not saying he was the best, second-best, or even third-best QB in the league. That is all pretty inconsequential to me, because everyone is going to have their own opinion. However, I do think he had a really good season. As I've stated, I think multiple guys can have really good seasons in the same year.
So yeah, he was good. He was great. Whatever. I think we needed a guy who was consistent and could make big plays throwing the ball, and he gave us exactly that, for the most part.
I get what you're saying, at the same time.

Well when you watch the games it tells a different story. Defense didnt make the big time stops and plays we are use to seeing hence most LSU fans thinking we had a bad defense.
Sorry its hard for us to tell when our defenses are bad since we always have a good one
plus 2013 was our highest Opp PPG since 2008 when we were awful

Because groupthink from the fan base plays in to the narrative, especially on message boards. People are susceptible to running narratives that go unchecked. cas4t, who actually has more brain cells than the average swamp kitten(he didn't actually attend LSU there might be some correlation), once made the claim that the 2013 offense was ranked higher than the 2013 defense, and when he was shown how the 2013 LSU defense was actually ranked quite high, and the 2013 LSU offense was actually pretty pedestrian, seemed quite shocked when presented with the evidence. It was one of the better LSU offenses in recent memory, and it coincided with a weaker LSU defenses, but in actuality it was no comparison, the strength of the 2013 LSU football team was still, by a wide margin, it's defense, Now, I don't know your posts lsufball19, and I don't know how intelligent you are, but conversations continue and evolve from thread to thread. You can't discount that in conversations, it's the nature of the beast. IF you clearly state that you are disagreeing with your fellow swamp kittens and going against the grain, that's one thing, but otherwise, we have to assume you are in line with their thinking.

I would say it's not that simple, but that would just start another big argument that I don't want to get into.
Our defense did improve towards the end of that season, when we started playing a lot of younger guys. We also got to dominate a terrible Iowa offense (aesthetically, at least) in our bowl game. However, through our first 8 or 9 games of the season, our defense really wasn't very good. And that was when most of our biggest games were played. I believe they were ranked between 30-40 at that point in the season.
Our defense also forced very few turnovers that season, compared to most years for an LSU defense.

you're seriously high if you think Arkansas has the least chance to finish last in the west, especially after losing Williams. Yes, I am aware LSU lost to Arkansas last year, but Arkansas still finished last in the west and just lost one of its biggest, and only, producers on offense.
Yes because it's not like we have a two time 1,000 yard back on our roster or anything...

ok? that 1000 yard back has led Arkansas to 2 SEC wins in 2 seasons too.

Arkansas probably has the toughest away schedule in the conference this year, besides maybe Alabama. Then, they lose a home game against aTm in Arlington (although I think they'll win that one).
I certainly don't think Arkansas is going to finish last, but there's a more likely chance they do than LSU, mainly because of scheduling.
