He is in a system built to maximize his minimal talent level.

So coaches shouldn't put players in favorable positions to get the most out of their ability...got it.

That's not what this thread is about though.

I agree with this.

I think he will have a big year this year. My homer pick would be Relf.

Do all State fans have a comprehension level of a "special" 3rd grader?

What this thread needs are comments like this:
I think Bennie Logan will have a big year for LSU. Who y'all got? No Richardson, Wilson, K Davis, M Dyer, please. Someone off the radar.

Dyer has some great talent. How the Oline gels and comes together will be his biggest obstacle.

Dyer's boy D. Mosley won't be there, so his mind won't be on the game..........

One poster said he thought Relf would breakout and another said he wouldnt because he is the product of the system he plays in. Why does it matter if he has minimum talent if the results are there. That was the point I was trying to make.

and our point is that, sans the OM games, his numbers are nearly as their as he's making it out to be.

You may be proud to have him, but a star of the SEC next year that does not make him. He isn't an elite qb and he won't get drafted.

He wont get drafted, but he will be one of the top QB's in the SEC this Fall. State is going to be pretty damn good offensively

Homer Pick: Vincent Sanders.

Other pick: Bray. I hope to God I'm wrong about that because I can't stand UT, but he has potential.

Other other: Brantley. I think he will make huge improvements under Weis.

If that happens, it will be by default as most SEC teams don't return proven QB's.

You won't find anyone that disagrees with this. Other than homer MSU fans...

Exactly, like the fact that he was at or below 50% completion percentage in half of his regular season games.

But then again, arguing with State fans about this is like arguing with them when they say that Michael Carr is their breakout receiver after making 4, yes FOUR, receptions during last year. Three of those was in the bowl game when they played one of the worst secondaries in the country.

I agree with you but Relf played better later in the season and some people are optimistic he may carry that momentum forward.
