So Les Miles has never started an underclassmen QB?
not over an upperclassman unless there was an injury. Don't be the flaming cocksucker you are... tell me... do you believe Mettenberger will be worse than Jefferson or Lee?

I believe he was behind both on the depth chart when all three were on campus at the same time.

I'm a McFadden fan. I like all three of those Ark rbs from that day. If Pelini just sends the house on 4th down we win
ah well.

which really is no indication at all about future success or talent. Matt Flynn at one time was on the depth chart behind Matt Mauck, Marcus Randall, and JaMarcus Russell. Who is still playing QB?

Wilson was behind Mallett and we all saw numerous Arky posters saying Wilson would be and was the better QB.
Les Miles had a love fest with JJ and JL. It's that simple.

should have stopped here

I'll bet my board existence, and I won't beg like TT13/TT9 did to stay, that Mettenberger's stats in yds and passing TDs are better than Lee and Jefferson's were combined

Wilson also played well against the eventual MNCs that year on the road.
Mett looked mediocre* against Ole Miss.
*Potential

I'm sure at that time you were saying that anyone who believed Jefferson wasn't going to be productive was either:

B. a troll

he looked mediocre in all 0 of his passing attempts and his one rush for 25 yards? You're such a troll it isn't even funny

Anyone who thinks Mettenberger won't be drafted is a fricking idiot. He has more potential right now than Matt Flynn ever had.
And there were LSU fans saying that Jordan Jefferson had more talent than JaMarcus Russell going into this past season.

I think Mett will be the best QB LSU's had in quite a while, but that's just it - I THINK it.
I don't think there's any way to judge exactly how good he is or could be until he faces some SEC defenses. I think he'll be great. But it's silly and premature to definitively state that he has more talent/ability/potential than a guy who just set the single game passing record for an NFL Franchise.
