Too bad we don't play in the west.

We've beaten every team in the west in the last 5 years, except Bama (1997).

not sensitive, i just find it funny that ole miss fans tend to selectively remember history to make up for their inadequacies.

What the frick are you talking about? You are all-mighty LSU who gives a shite what lil bitty OM fans say right?

I wasn't selectively remembering shite. Just saying we lost by 3 and our award winning kicker missed 2 fgs.

If you knew anything about OM you would know that a running joke among realistic fans is "we are ole Miss", meaning we can frick anything up.

but i have yet to receive an answer for the "other" time ole miss has been close to winning the west as two posters have alluded to itt

Besides 03 I dont know another year since 1992 that we were within a game of going to ATL.

We were speaking in reference to the scenario I laid out. I don't really see what the frick difference that makes.

and said they were both easy field goals and made it sound like that was the only reason ole miss lost, not that lsu kept ole miss in the game by turning the ball over or that the greatest player in ole miss history since archie could only manage one touchdown the entire game. but yeah, blame it all on the two missed field goals.

i know plenty about ole miss. everyone i grew up with, just about, was an ole miss fan, and no that is not the running joke. the running joke is that the ole miss fan base thinks much more highly of themselves than what they actually are

Completely Nutt's fault. If he had got Arkansas ready to play after a heart breaker at Tenn we would have played for the SEC title that year.

Ok, I'll answer you since you took the time to comment on my post. Our other real chances to get to Atlanta besides 03 would clearly have to be the 08 season in which we lost by 4 at Alabama. Though we did have 4 conference losses the following season, we went into the Alabama game know of the implications. After that loss, in which Alabama clearly showed they were better, it changed things. It just had to. Does it excuse the subsequent losses to Auburn and State. No indeed. But we'll never know for sure what might have happened had the Rebels beaten Alabama that day.

And as far as "our inadequacies" please consider the favorable hand LSU has been dealt in life (twice our population, no D1 schools to compete with for talent and 40 million dollars more in the athletic budget) and the cliche "money talks."

I know I almost continually bring this up, but the LSU fan base should know about it.

Kindest Regards. I really like ya'lls uniforms and purple gatorade in the summer.

rw

P.S. - I was a bully in 98 and was there when we beat Arky to basically secure the Atlanta trip. Helped tear the goal posts down and parade them around the field. It was fun but I wonder what Coach Croom thought of those NCAA sanctions he inherited from Jackie.

Why are you getting so worked up? I mention one thing about us missing 2 kicks (please forgive me for saying they were both chipshots, one was one wasnt) and you act like I am bashing LSU's title that you had such a huuuuuge part in, obviously. For frick's sake, once again, take the chip off your shoulder.

Yep, that is the exact moment that Nutt became a lifelong mediocre coach. He lost his nerve with that fumble. We'll see if he can ever get it back.

I would say Ole Miss gets there first between the two, but that is probably a ways off. The SEC West is extremely tough right now. And, it isn't getting any easier the way LSU, Bama and AU are recruiting.

I will defend UK's fanbase. They are loyal fans and their football fans are underrated. However, if UK is to ever get over the hump in the East, they need to develop a much improved defense.
