If I'm Franklin I stay the hell away from NU.

To me Franklin seems like the perfect guy for Nebraska since he can probably steal recruits from Texas and recruit nationally, which (kinda like Tennessee) is exactly what Nebraska needs.

Call me crazy but I think he'd be a huge success at Nebraska in an overall pretty weak Big Ten.

Maybe. I like Franklin a lot and think he's a great coach. He's also young energetic and like-able enough to possibly recruit well there too, or at least get some of the guys he needs - be surprised if he'd sniff top 10 class nationally though.

NU may also see more relative success in the B1G after they switch to East West with their only real division obstacle being Wisconsin, kind of like a Big XII North all over again.

I don't know though, maybe I'm overestimating the stupidity of their fans but they seem to be the most spoiled fan base I've seen. I think they'd call for him to be fired after 4-5 years and no conference championships or big bowl wins...and let's be honest, the B1G is Meyer's to lose for as long as he wants it.

I don't see how Mullen is spared. He's had ample time and he can't pull the recruits away from Oxford.

but who else can Mstate get? Pee wee fricking herman?

granted, Herman could probably do a better job...but is it worth the buy out?

I'll give you Mullen does well the first 4, maybe 6 games....then flops on his arse at the end EVERY YEAR. Truth be told, they will always only get the low hanging fruit, but the guy is CROOMing his way out of a job IMO.

2010: 9-4
2011: 7-6
2012: 8-5
2013: 7-6 max

I dunno, to me MS State is like Oregon State. They will just never have great talent and have to work with what they have. Those results are pretty good considering where MS State was before Mullen arrived.

I don't think anyone gets fired but Franklin might get a job somewhere. If MSU is smart they will fire Mullen and get Petrino before he goes somewhere they can't steal him from. If he can win at Arky he can win there with slightly better talent to choose from.

I think Petrino is done in the SEC. I don't see Franklin getting anything but a step-down job, if that's possible beyond Vandy.

Moo State has had HCs go 3-8 and keep their jobs...expectations are lower there.

I predict no changes in the SEC and the deck gets reshuffled next year for 2015.
