You think the situation involving Auburn’s boosters is at all comparable to LSU?

Not at all.

I think LSU has a much more toxic situation.

Between Coach O's transgressions, Wade's transgressions, the lack of institutional control involving players committing sexual assaults, the crap involving the children's hospital, and all of the woke BS that the LSU administration has adopted, I don't think Auburn is even in the game vs LSU.

Let’s not even get into that fact that the last three HCs (including Les Miles and Ed Orgeron) have won NC at LSU. Clearly it’s not the shitshow you’d like it to be.

Let's not even get into the fact that the last five HCs prior to Harsin have won a NC (Chizik), was 13 seconds from another NC (Malzahn), had an undefeated SEC Champion get screwed out of playing for the national championship (Tuberville), went undefeated in his first season on his way to winning his first 20 games (Bowden) and won 4 SEC Championships and was screwed out of the 1983 National Championship (Dye). Clearly, it's not the shitshow you'd like it to be.

The truth of the matter is that both Auburn and LSU are prime examples of two very strong programs that are starving for long-term leadership. LSU could have had that had the Dolphins not come calling and MIGHT have that now with Kelly. bama has that now with Saban. Georgia has that now with Kirby. Before Saban, bama was as dysfunctional as anyone after Bear died. Saban came in with demands that bama was smart enough to accept and they are now reaping the benefits.

Dysfunctionality is unfortunately a fact of life for MOST college football/athletic programs. Schools that are able to get stable leadership for a length of time are the ones that have the most success. Just look at how quickly our historically dead basketball program has been turned around with the right leadership.

Anybody who likes the idea of banking $21.4 million for 22 months of work?

Seems like a pretty good gig to me......

Sure, lots of people would want it. People who aren't very good at coaching and would love to cash a fat check. Just like Harsin.
Just like Fisher and A&M.

The job has become toxic since fat cat Auburn boosters tried last offseason to force out coach Bryan Harsin after Year 1

I think the program has stabilized some since they hired an Auburn guy as president and an AD with SEC experience. Auburn really shot themselves in the foot for hiring outsiders for those 2 positions previously.

Harsin didn’t want the job - this is documented. His wife told him to take the money grab and he did. They played the situation perfectly. He can go back to the mountain west and coach the rest of his life and his wife can enjoy generational wealth complements of the fambly

At Auburn the recruiting is in place for Lane to have a real defense to supplement his offense. That is the biggest carrot for a change ...
