Jimbo to A&M was an opportunity to land a national title winner who was unhappy where he was.
Before that:
Sumlin wasn’t a huge name. He was an up and comer who had done well at smaller schools.
Sherman wasn’t a huge name.
He was a known commodity and not flashy but a badass OL coach.

I’m guessing State ends up with Jon Sumrall. This would be a very solid hire.
