I am glad sc has a new oc who has only called plays once in his life. Usually an adjustment for players and coaches. Gives us a shot to beat them.

Dan Werner laughs at this.

Why is Auburn so optimistic about next year?

No troll

You guys lose a ton on your O line.
Is Cam Martin the answer at HB? Not sure he is an every down running back in our conference.

Decent WRs. I like Slayton.

Your QB is pretty good. He fumbles too much and doesn’t handle pressure well. See his last two games.

D Line is your strength. But, you lost your best Secondary player.

Why the optimism?

Did you see our first and last game? We are also getting our old OL coach back, the one whose line led the way for #1 rushing in the nation in 2013.

No and probably not. Asa Martin is coming in. Gus has never failed to produce a 1000 yard rusher at Auburn, I'm not worried about that as much as I am depth.

WRs are very solid. A of 4* guys there and finally a QB to throw to them

He is pretty good and you are right. Hopefully another season with Lindsey makes him more comfortable. Hopefully Grimes can put together a solid line to protect him.

True

Same as UGA, I guess. We've got a 10-win team coming back and have recruited very well under Gus. The schedule is the biggest issue, IMO.

They don’t have the players.

LSU has no QB worth spitting on, and no offense. We will have to stink up the joint like we did at Auburn. It is possible, but doubtful. LSU will be the toughest test despite an anemic offense.

Auburn will get spanked in Athens.

No I didn't, knew it would be difficult to win by that much the second time. However, it is what I said before the DSOR game.

So you are saying we will lose 4 games? I know you are an honorable poster....sooooo...ban bet?

I say we lose fewer than 4 games and you say we lose 4 or more?

I didn't know what you said...which is why I said y'all, meaning a bunch of Auburn posters. I'm sure I can dig up some posts, if you'd like.

I don't answer for all, I answer for myself and you were responding to me.

Probably. But South Carolina plays us very tough every year, it seems. Particularly at South Carolina.

Why not?
You must not know much about our team.

quote:

You guys lose a ton on your O line.

We lose a ton of dead weight. Braden Smith is a big loss. Our Tackles were shite though.
No doubt it will be a struggle at the start, but we'll be better off in the end and luckily we get UGA at the end.

And nobody is going to ask him to be...

quote:

Decent WRs. I like Slayton.

Decent yeah, okay
Best and deepest unit in the SEC, if not the NCAA next year. And every one of them returns.

quote:

Your QB is pretty good. He fumbles too much and doesn’t handle pressure well. See his last two games

He's better than yours.

quote:

D Line is your strength. But, you lost your best Secondary player.

The whole front 7 is a strength. And the DLine is the best in the SEC,so don't sell it short.

And no, we didn't.
Jamel Dean rated the highest of any player on the whole team by PFF. Carlton Davis was very good, but he wasn't our best. Jamel Dean played elite all season, and Javaris Davis has also been a huge playmaker at CB for 2 years now. CB is not something to be worried about for AU fans.

Honestly, a better question is why are Georgia fans so optimistic? Y'all act like there will be no drop off.
You return a solid QB for his sophomore slump, 4/5 of a good OL... And that's a good little foundation there, but who else is back? Your TE? You lose basically everything else. All the skill players, a historic RB duo (your dreaming if you think that won't hurt) and all your top WRs. Basically the whole defense, or at least everybody worth a shite.

Why are you optimistic? If you didnt have such a joke of a schedule y'all could be a .500 club

I thought CBS didn't start doing their SEC game of the week until Tennessee/Florida in week 3. I figured our game @ USC next year would be a night game. Williams-Brice at night is scary.

No. I've just seen a lot of people say stuff that I felt was untrue, so I thought I would offer in case you thought I was making it up.

I understand and can respect that. But I did say "y'all". I just wanted to make sure you understood that I didn't necessarily mean you in particular, because.....well, I am old and i can rarely remember what a particular poster says, unless it is especially egregious.

Heard that was because of a contractual obligation for golf or something...and that contract has expired.

We lose 1 WR (Wims), our LT (Wynn), Chubb, and Michel. That's all we lose on offense that matters. Still return Hardman, Godwin, Ridley, Nauta, Woerner, Swift, Holyfield, Herrien, and all the incoming Freshmen. We'll be more than fine on offense.

You're pretty fricked on defense though. I would ignore that nightmare too if I were you.

Todd Gurley summed up how the crowd can be a factor at Willy B. One of my all-time fave quotes by an opposing team's player regarding the Gamecocks.

quote:

"This place is unbelievable," Gurley said. "This place has one of the most crazy environments I've ever been in. Once you give the fans something to get excited about, it's hard to shut them up. I hope I never hear that (Sandstorm) again."

Believe what you want. Roquan is obviously a massive loss but everyone else we lose will be replaced by a more highly rated player and a lot of them got playing time this season. Whether that translates to a top defense again this season is to be seen, but I hardly think our defense will be a "nightmare."
