I hope Cornwell starts. I think that could be an upgrade.

You forgot

LB Justin Bass - Claude George. Linebacker with 2 career tfl that somehow started 12 games for us last season. George was a highly touted JUCO prospect.

I don't really think Claude starts.... Our LB's last year. I expect it to be much better this year.

That's the point though. Bass would have hardly seen the field if Hilliard didn't go out in Columbia during the opener.

Yep. Though luckily, our OL will be improved, and I think or overall receiver depth will be better. This year, it'll be Kirby that leads us to the playoff, instead of Kiffin.

Well the starters we lost and their replacements are:

CB: Senquez Golson, replaced by Tee Shepard
S: Cody Prewitt, replaced by CJ Hampton IMO
MLB: DT Shackleford, replaced by CJ Johnson (moving from DE)
DT: Bryon Bennett, replaced by DJ Jones
DE: CJ Johnson replaced by Marquis Haynes

QB Bo Wallace replaced by Chad Kelly
WR Vince Sanders replaced by Damoreheeats Stringfellow

I think Golson was great but Shepard is as good or better. He's taller and more physical and will be a pick machine.

Hampton was a highly sought-after recruit and lays the wood. I don't know about his intangibles but he is a solid physical specimen and played well in sparse minutes last year.

CJ was one of the top linebackers in the country in high school and is in his sixth year with the team. He is more physical than DT and is a good leader, should see improvement there.

Bennett was never out of position but Jones is more talented. You never know how Jucos pan out and we seem to have bad luck with Juco d-linemen but there's promise.

Haynes was one of the top defensive ends in the conference last year against the pass. He won't be much help on physical runners coming his way, but he can catch anyone in space.

Kelly has more talent than Bo but he has never played in the SEC and wasn't in line to start at Clemson, so QB worries me quite a bit.

Stringfellow is a freak but has alligator arms. If you could put Sanders talent, coachability and grit in Stringfellow's body it would be a helluva receiver. I don't know how he'll fare but luckily we have a deep stable at the position this year.

I'm not sure how we replace Spaight and Flowers.

Secondary should be better and overall DL depth is better than we've had in years, so I think we should be alright.

I'm not confident. Call me cautiously optimistic.

We lose Worley and replace him with Dobbs (we really already did.) As much of a warrior as Worley was for us, this is a huge upgrade. Dobbs can throw at least as well or better, and has a knack for making something out of nothing. Worley was a sitting duck, while Dobbs is a threat to run at any time. Our sacks per game were just about cut in half with Dobbs in the lineup.
We lose Jordan Williams at DT who was a solid player, but we have a deep and talented defensive front, including several top flight recruits, so we should be just fine there.
AJ Johnson is our only big loss imo. There are a ton of names vying to replace him at that position, including Dillon Bates, Jakob Johnson, Gavin Bryant and Kenny Bynum, but for now, that position is still wide open. If we have to, we can slide our best LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin over to play there.
We lose Justin Coleman at nickel, who improved a lot his senior year but always seemed to have issues with getting burned for big plays. Either Rashaan Gaulden will step in there, or Sutton can lock down that position and someone can take the other corner spot. At least 4 of our 5 secondary spots are solid though, so I'm not really concerned there either.
Lastly, we lose Matt Darr, our punter from last year, who also vastly improved his senior year. That position is one big ? right now, and we have true frosh Tommy Townsend, walk on Trevor Daniel and Maryland transfer Nathan Renfro competing for that spot. I would hope at least one of those 3 would be effective.

Don't lose much on Offense: (2)

RT Free agent Brey Cook is being replaced by Dan Skipper who played at LG last year.

That created a musical chairs on the offensive line sending Denver Kirkland from RG to LT.

The new addition to the line is Frank Ragnow who played quite a bit as a true freshman last year, so overall our line should be better barring injury and the position moves turning out to be a good idea will be key.

2nd TE- 6th round pick AJ Derby who was injured during most of the end of the season when we started winning some games. Jeremy Sprinkle who played a lot towards the end of the season will be the 2nd TE. The talk is that Sprinkle will not be a drop off to the draft pick he is replacing, has bulked up a lot.

Defense:

DT: 6th round pick Darius Philon replaced by Bijhon Jackson. Jackson was the more celebrated recruit. Time to show it as a sophomore. Bigger but not as quick as Philon.

DE: 4th round pick Trey Flowers. Could be mulitple guys but my pick if he can stay healthy (which he never has) is RS Jr. Deatrick Wise.

SLB: Undrafted Braylon Mitchell to be replaced by unproven sophomore Khalia Hackett. (?) This position might only play 60% of downs, coming out in the nickel. Edit: no Williams will probably come out in the nickel so Hackett performing is key.

WLB: 5th round pick Martrell Spaight is being replaced by last year's MLB Ellis Brooks. Supposed to be a more natural position for him. Getting some accolades so we will see. Will be a junior and has started since early freshman year.

JC Senior Josh Williams will go to the MLB for Ellis. Williams didn't show much as a JC junior but neither did Spaight, but I wouldn't count on that happening with Williams.

S Free agent Alan Turner being replaced by Josh Liddell. Liddell played a lot as a true freshman, might be another lightly recruited surprise performer.

Long story short: Linebacker is a concern.

Forgot nickleback 6th round pick Tevin Mitchel will need to be replaced. Several candidates with playing experience for CBB to chose from.
