SEC Champions... You didn't even win your division son. GTFO

ETA: And you had already lost to LSU at home. You had nothing to lose.

The NC game is more about everything to win, as opposed to "nothing to lose". Having nothing to lose wasn't the deciding factor in the NC game. One view is that LSU was simply outmatched in that game... LSU weakness played into Bama's strengths. This was not as apparent in the first game that had to be decided in overtime. But after such a close first game, both teams had something to prove. The other view would be that LSU wasn't as "UP" for this game because they had already beaten Bama once. I don't buy this argument. However, for argument sake, if that were true that is a larger program issue for LSU to deal with. There is absolutely no excuse for not being "up" and ready to play for the NC. In this case the stronger program last year won.

The only thing that will throttle back the 1/9 references, will be to throttle back on all of the excuses. You didn't win your division... yada, yada. Throwing gasoline on a fire, lmao.

I disagree. Honestly, what else was there for LSU to prove? We had already beaten Alabama on the road. Had the toughest OOC schedule in the country, beaten 3 top 3 teams, and had won the SEC West and SEC Title.

Honestly Bama was just glad to be there. And I surely don't buy the "well the 1st game was close so both teams had something to prove". That's a bunch of bullshite and you know this.

Of course you do. Any team in the NC game should be glad to be there. Congrats on the titles.

First game wasn't decided in regulation. Based on this LSU should have known what they were getting into, after having easily dispatched the rest of their opponents. The two best teams in the country were selected to play for a NC. Bama was smart enough to adjust and exploit the weakness in LSU. Oh and your position... LSU wasn't up for it, they shouldn't have to play them again. If that is the case the LSU program has larger issues than having trouble with the 50 yard line. Best of luck.

Your argument about both teams still needing something to prove is incredibly pointless. I highly doubt the LSU players said following the 1st game, "damn I need to prove that we are the best team once more, because coming into t-town and winning in OT wasn't enough".

Of course, as referenced by the meltdown of bama fans on this board, and the bama fans crying at the game, one would have thought at the time that the November game WAS THE ONE THAT COUNTED. Obviously, that was how it was approached from both sides. I always love that argument, that they won the one that counted. They had no idea they would get to back their way into a rematch...they thought it was over......

not saying they weren't up for it....however, over history, most rematches involving good teams do not turn out well for the team that won the first meeting. Bama won, both teams had a great season. I've long ago moved on and looking forward to another great season.

not even arguing that...most of us gave pitt a very small chance at beating WV. However, LSU did win its division, and the most powerful conference in america...I don't care who wins the SEC, they deserve to play for the NC.

Of course it's hard to stay on topic. My case for LSU in the current century is in my sig. Other teams have their own case to make. Let the loudest opinion win.
