Other than a little comedy value, I don't know why anyone would visit that place, it would drive me nuts.

I just didn't know about any other boards. Then someone fricked up and linked this place and I decided that LSU and Alabama fans were an easy trade off for the idiots over there.

No one claped for him so he made a joke about it, telling everyone not to clap. He just replaced one of the most popular coaches we have ever had and you could hear a pin drop.

It went over like a silent but deadly fart.

Just my thought on this. Right now we've basically told all the coaches that we aren't bringing them back. How hard do you think they are recruiting this year? I know everyone wants to believe that they are really giving it their all but those are long hours for something you now know you'll never reap the benefits of.

Are you basing this off of just JLS being brought in?

You think so? If we bring in Garrick, do you think he'll bring in his entire UAB staff? What happens if (I understand this is a longshot) we win the SEC?

Me neither. I just don't think the entire staff was given a 10 mos. contract alongside John L.

Yup. We gave the guy a 10 month contract. It also kind of points toward not hiring Mcgee. If we're waiting till the offseason it certainly isn't to go after a head coach with 1 year of experience and he could be anywhere from a Dooley to a Chip Kelly on the master to disciple success scale.

Horton and Allen will be retained, too much of an Arky recruiting advantage, that's my .02

A 2 month extension will happen for head coaching duties with the same can be moved to admin position clause in place so that when we hire the coach John Ls admin position will still be with the team while the head coach is named put in place and can start recruiting and hiring coaches.

Well, that one year will give you a better idea of where he falls on the scale.

Given a wildly successful season, you don't think an assistant would be considered for the HC pos? I think there are too many variables to assume the whole staff is out the door at year's end.

Maybe but I think the real question will be his admin stuff that you can't see in one year. Can Mcgee be the same type of program builder petrino was?

What if we do end up getting a coordinator from the NFL I could see a lot of the staff coming back, depending on what side of the ball he came from....

He doesn't have a lot to work with at UAB. OTOH, if he accomplishes anything, it will be pretty obvious.

I'm willing to bet Petrino knows he is gone. Doubt he would be retained and I think there are better coordinator options available. Don't know anything about Haynes and Johnson yet...They are new to the equation but it looks like they can coach at least. Horton isn't a serious candidate for a head coaching position.

Maybe its just me, but I don't want McGee yet, he needs experience as a a hc before jumping into the sec. I think he's a good Oc, just needs time at the helm. I hope we go after a big name.
