legend?
To me, a "legend" is someone who stands the test of time. Someone who, 20 years later is still remembered as "greatness".
I'll let you know in 20 years about the whole "legend" thing.

And I believe Tebow will be remembered, or at least he should be. First to win Heisman as a sophomore. Two national championships. Definition of a leader and probably the best example of a christian athlete.

Is Tebow even better than Danny Wuerrfel? I mean it's hard to argue with 4 SEC titles.

Danny couldn't perform circumcisions now could he...

I have nothing against Tebow. He led Florida to glory more than once.
"Legend" is reserved for Bear Bryant, Joe Montana, Emmitt Smith, etc.
Tim Tebow will be judged over years.... decades. Time will decide whether he was a "legend" or not.

SEC legends always ends up being like the Heisman discussion... people end up only talking about the offensive skill position guys
But among those guys (QBs, RBs, WRs)... Tebow's obviously on the list - among players of his era he's probably the #1 of the decade...
two NCs, best player on his very good team, the Heisman thing I'm less enamored as evidence of excellence but he was the MVP of the best team in the country at least once
Other recent guys worth noting obviously include: H Walker, Bo Jackson, P Manning, D Wuerfell, heck maybe even K Faulk... go back a ways and we have discussions of people ranging from Cassanova to Cannon at LSU too
What would be interesting for this dicussion would be a serious attempt (nominating players not on your team) at listing the best DL, LB, DBs, OL, TEs etc from the SEC over the last however many years...

I agree with this.
Know what? I bet Eric Berry goes down as near "legendary" before it's over.

It would be tough to pick someone better, a case could be made, but it would have to be a good one.
