Pay attention to our recruiting classes for 2013 and 14 son.....

Pay attention
USC, UT, OSU, UGA, Uf, Nebraska of the 90s all had top recruiting classes preceding their down years. It is just the way cfb works. Sorry my opinion upsets you.

LSU will reload in 13 AND 14....so your wishful thinking is just misguided.

Nothing in my original post relays being upset...just thought I'd try to educate you some.

Keep wishing...maybe it will happen

You'll need to continue wishing after you lose in Tiger Stadium next year too.

But hey, u got JFF......yaaaay

LSU is still ahead of A&M until we finish ahead of them. We still need a couple of years to recruit on defense but so far so good.

the long history of cfb combined with the direction of the program atm suggests otherwise. Sure, LSU could buck the trend and prove me wrong, but I think the trend will hold. It will happen with bama in the next couple of years as well.

Both LSU and Bama are in position to have their down cycles be pretty mild and short, but they will come at some point.

You called me son for some reason. that indicated to me that you might be a touch perturbed and too arrogant to have a rational discussion.

I'll give you this.....you can't sustain it forever.

I just don't think it's gonna happen to LSU in the next 4 years or so.

For affect more than perturbed....plus, I would think I'm older than you. Sorry you took it as arrogance.

You don't think it's already happened/happening? 08,09,12? Look, if this is the decline, I will clearly take it, but we have been, and are, undergoing some serious issues. I'm just hoping these issues don't take us from 2-3 losses per season to much worse.

Exactly. And there are some signs to indicate LSU may be entering their down cycle.

It will almost certainly happen within the next 4 years.

Not sure, but we certainly aren't related.

Anyway, a reasonable person can certainly disagree with my opinion, but that same reasonable person would have to concede that my opinion is based in logic and not fantasy.

If you mean losing our last two bowl games...then ok

But one was a NC game after going 13-0 in regular season.

And the other was losses to two Top 5 teams and a shite-the-bed Chick Bowl loss.

LSU, IMO, isn't going anywhere for awhile

No. I mean losing 3 games this season. Having QB and game management issues. And not really looking as impressive or dominant as they have in previous years.

Since LSU can't beat Clemson, LSU should not have to face Florida every year. Texas A&M or Alabama can face Florida every year.

If LSU is still elite, only then can LSU face Florida every year.

Again, two were to Top 5 teams.....

When has this NOT been an issue? We win despite this.

13-0 last year.....10 wins in 2012 and :45 away from another SECCG. I can deal with that drop-off.

Doesn't that stat support my statement.

Truth. I'm willing to admit my call of the fall of LSU (and Bama for that matter) may be a year or two premature, but no one ever made a bold prediction without risking being wrong.

So LSU didn't go undefeated in 2012.....ok, slight fall.

1/9 stole their swagger

Bama will certainly cycle down one day, that's like saying the sun will rise...but it will be no time soon. That's a machine in tuscaloosa, and it's under warranty

Exactly.

Maybe not. They certainly look less vulnerable than LSU. However, these things often happen without much warning and just the timing of it based on history seems like it will happen in the next 2-3 years.

Hard to argue against this.

quote:

Pride cometh before the fall. there are no guarantees in cfb from year to year.
