Roberson is going to Florida. I love how you are counting players who aren't even committed to your team yet.

That would be Alabama and Florida State.

Tracy Porter is what you might call a "late bloomer."

It happens. Matt Forte was the same way. Forte had zero interest from the top programs in the SEC, and now he's got a pretty solid career going in the NFL, leaving players like Justin Vincent and Ally Broussard, and Joe McKnight in his dust.

Auburn still leads.

Oh, that never happens. I guess trying to predict the best DB class of 2011 should only count players that are committed then? Not ones that are going to? So FSU has a better class because it's not NSD yet? Yea, that makes tons of sense.

Maybe we could trade Bama for one of their LB's next year?

That's not what I've heard from completely impartial sources. You need to stop drinking your mods' Kool-Aid. I bet you thought you were getting La'el Collins too?

Not sure if serious...

You have 2 DBs committed. And you aren't recruiting anyone else.
Auburn and FSU will have 5.

I think we might land CJ Johnson. :fingerscrossed:

Notice...I didn't say that we definitely would land CJ, and I'm not counting him in our class. This is what separates us from the Auburn fans.

Whatever you say, slick.

And no on Collins. If you're going to throw that out there, please try to find any post where I said as much.

And it has absolutely nothing to do with Roberson. Good job on trying to apply logic to two totally different recruiting situations.

Jabriel Washington is a corner, too. They have 3 DBs.

Just trying to illustrate a point, homeskillet.

Roberson isn't committed to Auburn and there is a relatively high change that he goes to Florida. Stop acting like he is already signed and sealed to Auburn. You're obviously a noobie recruitnik.

Okay, thanks.

Don't really keep up with their recruiting. Listed as ATH and didn't know what position he would end up as.

Still don't think that he would be included in Rivals DB ratings though.

He might, but I still think he signs with AU. Especially with Janoris Jenkins staying for his senior year.
And Florence is as close to a lock as you get in recruiting....

5-star: Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix
4-star: Chris Jones
3-star: Jabriel Washington

We're expected to sign one more, with Malcolm Mitchell possibly being the other safety in the class.

Just as a side note, because this thread started as a discussion of LSU's current DBs....

Morris Claiborne - Shreveport - originally a 2* ATH. He got bumped to a 3* when he committed to LSU. Both services missed on this guy. He is one of the best athletes on the team and will be our best corner next year.

Tyrann Mathieu - another sleeper who only received his fourth star after he came to LSU's camp. Ended up being a little terror on the field.

Tharold Simon - was a 4* but an ATH. Nobody knew whether he would play WR or S. Corner was not even part of the discussion and it surprised everyone when it turned out he could cover.

Eric Reid - the only one who was highly touted AT HIS POSITION from beginning to end of the process.

The point is that a lot of the guys who end up as DBs at LSU are either not listed as DBs or they are not highly rated.

Then go ahead and re-evaluate Brent Calloway.

Saw him get a concussion in person. He is a player for sure though. Him and Ha Ha with both be very good players but you still dont have a better DB class than AU

As of right now, Auburn leads.

That may change when he takes his official. But I'm not going to change that until anything happens.

Hell, most UF fans still think he is going to Auburn.

And then there was this... written yesterday...

quote:

But the key to Roberson’s recruitment could be his mother. Roberson said during the Under Armour All-America Game practices earlier this week that his mom “loves” Auburn, though he would like her to visit Florida with him.

And no, I'm not a "noobie recruitnik." Until anyone says otherwise, Auburn still leads.

We won't because of numbers. We could sign three five stars, but if someone else signed 8 three stars, it would be a higher ranked class in the class position rankings.
