thing you have to realize about Nutt is he is a douche bag
What does that make ole Petrino?
A backstabbing, lying, tuck-your-tail-and-run douche bag??

Arthur Blank would not let him address the team so that is what he had to do.
Also when your star QB is going to federal prison he would have been fired soon anyway. He lost his team and the handwriting was on the wall. Just deal with the fact that Arkansas is and always will be greater than Mississippi. It will make you a better person.

Whatever you say cannot defend what he did. I'm not mad still but what he did was wrong

If Nutt goes 4-7 or 5-6 and is skull-fricked again by State the bubble may damn near be close to bursting--I don't think a promise to clean house with assts etc even if this happened would be enough.
I will take my chances on niether of these happening, but don't let simple things like math/adition get in the way of your blind homerism..

Gus did not take Vandy and will not take Ole Miss--
I could see Florida, Tennessee or/ even LSU if things turn south for Les.

Florida just hired Muschamp, Dooley is about to bring Tennessee out of the ashes, and LSU isn't firing Les anytime soon.. If Gus gets a job, it'll be somewhere we didn't see coming. I always thought he fit well at UWV, but they have their man now. I could maybe see Clemson since they hired a guy that worked under Gus in high school and runs the same offense, but we'll see.. I think he stays at least 2 more years (hopefully).

he has never been and never will be in a BCS bowl so Petrino has done something he has not been able to do already.
And Nutt got you to Atlanta twice...something Petrino will be lucky to do once.

If true can you blame him? Plenty of coaches quit jobs under contract to take other ones, but very, very few are lousy enough to quit in the middle of the season to take another job. And yes, I realize Saban is no saint in the area of quitting jobs, but he at least had the decency to tell Alabama if they wanted him they would have to be patient enough to wait until the Dolphins season was over to discuss hiring him. Petrino could have told Arky the same thing and they would have waited if they wanted him badly enough.

Lou Holtz couldn't resist our call either. It's not his fault. They quit the pros, they look to us. They can't help it.

He had to take the job when he did, otherwise we would've had nothing for a recruting class his first year b/c he wouldn't have been our coach in time to recruit anyone and they would've went elsewhere.
FWIW that class included: Joe Adams, Greg Childs, Jarious Wright, Jericho Nelson, Tramain Thomas, and Tyler Wilson to name a few.
He was given a choice, take the job when he did or else we had to move on even if we wanted him that bad. Obviously it was a wise move to take the job and get all those recruits.
