I could seriously see him finding a home in TV as a color analyst.
Do you really think TV audiences want to listen to a Gomer Pyle sound alike doing color for a game?

He would remain in Oxford and become an author.

This is actually an interesting question. Assuming Ole Miss does actually fire him, I don't know if Sexton has enough magic to get him another high profile gig. I could see a lower level BCS squad take him (think someone on par with UCF) in order to generate some excitement or so.
I could honestly see him as a color commentator. He'd be pretty bad at it, but it seems like networks are always falling all over themselves to have guys like this do color commentary. It would allow for Nutt to listen to the sound of his own voice over and over again.

The man took them to back to back Cotton Bowl wins. I would hope OM fans remember just how awful their program has been over the last 40 years and realize HDN is the best coach their program has had in a long time. I think he got the most you can get out of Arkansas and OM. He did a great job at Arky, but the fans ran him off for not winning SEC and BCS titles....something Petrino will never give them either. That program will never pull in the depth of talent necessary to be consistent players on the SEC and national title stage.

He would be a fantastic color commentator. The man knows football and has a great personality.

Oh My! You've done it now.

I think it is far more likely that they put Coach Nix up as the sacrificial lamb if they stink it up again this year. It would be a shame. Nix is a good coach but that is the nature of the profession.

the only time I think Nutt does any coaching consistent coaching worth a damn is against LSU. the rest of the season he seems to mail it in. what's sad is i think this is exactly what a lot of OM fans are looking for.

You need to talk to some of the ex players who played under him. Does he know more than people not in the football coaching profession? Maybe. Does he know football as well as most other college head coaches? That's laughable.

He has had success at every mid-level program he has coached at....just never gotten a shot on the big stage. He should have taken the Nebraska job when he was offered.

Really, he has never been and never will be in a BCS bowl so Petrino has done something he has not been able to do already. The thing you have to realize about Nutt is he is a douche bag. Bobby Petrino had no SEC caliber players at Arkansas when he got there. His record the first two seasons reflects that but him being the badass that he his turned it around in 2 seasons. Nutt has peaked at OM and it is all down hill from now.
