I was making fun of a typo. I completely agree with you.

Why? Our sample size is what, like 4 years total? Our sample size of vandy beating all 3 of those teams is only 1 year, this one. Since 1892 we've seen (relating back to the topic of the thread) that vandy will likely not beat those 3 again in a very very long time. And obviously, the only reason they did it this year was due to 2 of the 3 being awful.

I expect that as well as long as franklin is there, but don't you think UF and UT will improve in the coming years as well?

Haha, good catch. I could edit it but that wouldn't be much fun now would it?

I do think vandy takes a step back next year and I'd be happy with a 6-6 finish. 2015 and beyond will likely be the next push forward.
The formula for improvement at Vandy is to continue to reduce the recruiting gap (improved recruiting rankings from the 60s and 70s to the 20s and better), continue to beat teams they are supposed to beat (CJF is 17-2 as a favorite) and pull off a couple of upsets (Vandy won 3 SEC games this year as underdogs, two of those as double-digit underdogs).
It'll continue to be an uphill climb due to the current limitations and deficiencies at Vandy but CJF and his staff have shown the ability to coach-up, game plan, scheme and adjust to minimize their weaknesses and maximize their strengths.

Really? Vanderbilt is only winning because we've been recruiting leaps and bounds over everybody?
No, its because youve been better at developing your talent and retaining your players. UT has had three different coaches over that time span. Aso, only 2-3 players from the 2008 class (Kiffins shite class) actually contributed to the team.

Go argue with one of your rivals. Oh wait...
The last team to win owns the title, whether it's national champion or owns the state they're in.
And we're not arguing, I'm just exposing your lousy butthurt logic. Beat Vandy then you can claim the state back as your own.

You don't know what you're talking about, you don;t even have an in-state team thats worth a damn. Shut up and stay out of stuff that doesn't concern you/you have no experience with.

2-1 in the decade. 1-0 with current coaches. Isn't this a fun game when you get it down to time frames that really matter right now?
His point was that your recruiting doesn't matter until you beat us again though. If recruiting won games and championships, Saban's #1 classes wouldn't be watching someone else play in Atlanta or Pasadena (most likely) this year.

They still have 3 out of the last 4 NCs and were a fluke play away from probably having a 4th...

The shut up and go away defense. Unbeatable. I applaud you, sir.

That is certainly a fair point. When was the last time Vandy had a strong recruiter who wasn't content to just be a mediocre at best team who was the SEC doormat? Obviously, if Franklin bails, the progress is going to be stymied unless we can find another person brave enough to take on the job with a similar doggedness.

I would be stupid not to think they will. That's why I think it will be a steadier pattern of competition. Most years, if Franklin stays around long enough to implement a system and we can get other good coaches to follow him when he leaves, I can see Vanderbilt being in that mid-pack mix of the East with maybe even a few really good years and of course, as UF and UT are experiencing, some bad ones.

Last time i checked, a decade is 10 years. 7-3.

The sample size should be cut in half. Vandy didn't start playing all 3 until 1945, not 1892.

Exactly, it's very important, but it's not a guarantee. Auburn had 4 straight, I believe, top 10 recruiting classes and went 3-9. Extremely talented teams can have terrible seasons, especially if not developed well. I'm not saying UT will become a cellar-dweller or doormat, but expecting to "restore the order" with Vandy in that position is not something I expect. Bad years? Next year could be one, but not a permanent or long-term return there.

I meant the decade we are currently in by the calendar, not as in the last 10 years. My bad for poor explanation. I would also like to correct myself as the stat is 2-2 for the decade. Apparently, I can do calculus, but I can't figure out that 2010 counts as a year in the 2010s. Fail

I live in Nashville, I have a bit more understanding of this rivalry than you think.
And BTW, hearing UT fans cry makes my day. Thanks!

i'm sure. Hearing LSU fans bitch about playing UF is music to my ears, especially since we play UF and UA every year.
