And Lsu won 0 at home that decade

Not really the point though, is it...?

The point is that in the 80's Alabama and LSU were pretty even, the lead up to the game was intense. By the time Bama lost to Curley in '93, when they were still undefeated from the previous championship season, they were kind of getting used to losing to LSU at home.

Losing to Curley at home...

The UA-LSU game has been a great game recently, but that doesn't make it a rivalry.

I firmly admit LSU is Bama's biggest rival currently. That may change but as long as Saban is at Bama then Bama will own Auburn. I don't feel that way with LSU. LSU is the one team that scares me on Bama's schedule every year and has for the last decade.

Good grief!!!!!!! This is not a RIVALRY. Rivalries do NOT come and go. They are bred in years of tradition and brother against brother, knock down hatred. LSU is a fun group to party with. I would NEVER say that about the barn or UcheaT.

The reason you'd want to play LSU at a larger venue is because it's a big game which will draw a large crowd. Otherwise you play at your smaller stadium, like Bama did vs State.

No you dumb fricking douche canoe, we played every game that wasnt on the level of middle tennesee state at Legion Field. You werent special for getting to play there.

No. I just get really frustrated when people don't understand something so simple, especially if they are Bama fans. They should know, respect and uphold our history and tradition.

Oh, so you're saying Tennessee is NOT one of Alabama's rivals?

I didn't say that.

Due to its size and location, both Alabama and Auburn have used this stadium for other football games.

Prior to 1999, the University of Alabama played at least three home football games there every season, including the entire 1987 home schedule, plus the Iron Bowl, due to construction at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The capacity of Legion Field was larger than that of Bryant-Denny and the city of Birmingham was more accessible than Tuscaloosa for much of the 20th century.

After the addition of the east upper deck to Bryant-Denny Stadium in 1998, the capacity of Bryant-Denny exceeded that of Legion Field. Due to the disrepair of Legion Field and the added capacity in Tuscaloosa, Alabama moved major conference games on campus. In the ensuing years, Alabama decreased the number of games scheduled in Birmingham. The last home game for Alabama at Legion Field was against the University of South Florida on August 30, 2003. Though they had a couple of games scheduled at Legion Field in 2005 and 2008, the disrepair to the stadium and the structural issues to the upper deck led Alabama to end their contract with the city of Birmingham in 2004 and move all home games to Tuscaloosa.

No. I'm saying Lsu isn't a rival like Tennessee and Auburn are. I stated, over and over, that Lsu is a big game for Bama now, and there is nothing wrong with that. I fail to see why a program that has finally elevated to the level Lsu is, has a need to feel like they have to be our rival now.

As far as you trying to say Bama/Lsu are rivals, because they played at Legion Field, well.. just

Other teams Bama played at Legion Field:

Tenn-Chattanooga
Georgia
Georgia Tech
Southern Cal
Virginia Tech
Ole Miss
Kentucky
Duke
Southern Miss
Vandy

etc, etc.. this list goes on.

You're wrong. You don't even know the history of your favorite program, even though the internet puts it right at your fingertips.

I guess that doesn't make you dumb, it makes you stupid.

I mean, I even contrasted it with another SEC school in my post.

It turns out that Alabama played 224 games there in 76 years. LINK. That means an average of 2.947 games per year. Generally LSU was one of those 3 games in the years they played at Alabama, Tennessee was another one.

Pretty much Alabama's premier games were played in Birmingham. And I got more bad news for you, you'd have to actually go through Tuscaloosa to get to Birmingham from Louisiana back in the day on Old US 11. So that blows your theory that it was easier to get to. It was a big game then, it's a big game now. This isn't just some 10-year old thing.

Not all rivalries are full of hatred. Alabama/auburn is the quintessential hate rivalry, but Army/Navy is a rivalry too, and there is more respect than hatred.

Bc Legion Field had a bigger capacity than BDS then. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

I understand that LSU was/is closer to ttown but prior to 98, Legion Field HELD MORE PEOPLE.

We didn't play in Birmingham to make it easier for visiting fans to get to.

Well I suppose if you want to take the entire time we used the stadium then you might have some retarded numbers like that, but I dont think we were talking about games played 90 years ago.

In the 80's and 90's, the time period when I was alive, we played almost every game that wasnt a nobody in Legion Field.

And nobody gives a frick if YOU had to drive further to get there, it was done for the fans of ALABAMA. We could have given 2 fricks less if you had had to get there via Arkansas and Tennessee.

We only played LSU in Birmingham 3 times in the 80s. The other two were in Tuscaloosa.

I think we played in Bham 4 times a year through the 80s. We never played UT, AU, and LSU there in the same year.

We disrespected Lsu so much as a nonrival, we played them in Birmingham, Ttown, Mobile, New Orleans. We just kept them guessing.
