When was the last time LSU coached up a QB?

LSU fans seem to be hanging thier hat on "players can improve" line this off season. When had the current staff coached up a qb? Last one I recall was Jimbo Fisher coaching up Flynn in 2007. Who else? JJ regressed in 4 years. Mettenburger was average at best.
Add in the fact that thier line coach is Jeff Grimes, gonna be some fun times on this board inn the Fall.

Mettenberger improved tremendously from 2012 to 2013

Mettenburger was better than Average (NFL part time starter/roster), but he was a UGA recruit and retread.
LSU will be fine they have been winning without a QB for years.

He spent one spring at UGA before getting tossed. Three years at LSU. If you can't watch the TCU game amd see how much he improved as a QB, then I don't know what else to tell you.

Miles' staff coached up Jamarcus Russell to the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft. That was Jimbo. Then, you mentioned Matt Flynn under Jimbo and Gary Crowton. Then, Crowton and Studrawa coached the underwhelming tandem of Jefferson/Lee to lead the offense of one of the great teams ever in 2011. Then, Mettenberger in 2013.

The last QB lsu had that had a year of starting experience under his belt
