Even with the ISU loss OSU still got #2 votes. If OSU wins that game, imo:
1. LSU beats OSU 42-20
2. UA beats whoever in Sugar Bowl
3. ButthurtNation wouldn't be butthurt
4. HomerNation wouldn't be homering
5. 80% of the post season threads would be LSU fans hacking on UA instead of visa versa.

If ISU only knew their part in blogosphere.

It really is funny how one game in another division creates a "dynasty" for another.

A dynasty is a dominant team for a consistent period of time. Nebraska(early 90's) and Miami(late 80's, early 90's) were dynasties. They dominated their conference and everyone else. Bama is on a run, but they are not considered a Dynasty. Your not even the undisputed king of your own division, much less conference. If Bama wins a natty this year or 2013, discussions might come up, but now..............your on a great run. Nothing wrong with being on a great run.

I grasp it very easily. The point of college football is to win the natty. Bama has done that twice in three years. LSU hasn't done it at all the past 4-5 years. The fact that you can't grasp the ultimate goal of college football, and the rules by which you accomplish said goal, is purely a reflection upon your own intelligence.

I hear ya man. I'm enjoying the one Coach Saban started in 2000 and optimistic about the Hat continuing it till 2020 or so.

I'm not reading the whole thread but can someone tell me if Alabama should be considered a dynasty if we win 3 national championships in 5 years?

Others are just incapable of accepting any success for the Alabama football program.

Look back at my response to the OP; I think it was my first in the thread. UAT deserves a great deal of credit for the success it has had over the past four years, and I think you'll continue to be one of the elite teams in the SEC for the foreseeable future. I just think Auburn is going to step up to the same level this season, and hang right there with LSU and Bama for dominance in the West.

Yeah. No one considers the 2000s Florida Gators a dynasty, and Tebow won more than Saban has.

If Alabama wins one of the next 3 national titles and doesn't have less than a 10 win season in those 3, then it is a dynasty. If not, they are just meh. Somewhere between late 2000s Florida and early 2000s USC.

My prediction? 3 losses this year for Saban, USC wins the National Title. Next year, Ohio State wins the National Title. The year after, USC wins again in the first year of the playoff. At which point the window for a dynasty closes, unless Bama pulls one out immediately after, even then... meh.

Seriously? Sounds like a lot of frustration then. This might account for the major infractions starting in the 90's. Saban may have saved UA more than they know.

I was talking to somebody about this the other day. I wonder how long we have him. I don't see him as an NFL head coach and I don't see him leaving. I wonder how long his crazy arse stays around? I really don't see him going anywhere else.

Spoken like a true bammer. You got put in the national championship game by voters, not by your results on the field. I will readily admit that Bama was probably one of the two best teams in the country, but there is no way that you should get to bypass the conference championship and go straight to the national championship. If you can't even win your own division, what gives you the right to play for it all?

Then you should send Okie State a thank you card.
