Freeze's ceiling is 4th in the West. He will be fighting Arkansas and Auburn for that title for his entire tenure at Ole Miss.

I like Freeze a lot but Ole Miss is a "ceiling" gig. That program can only go so high in this division in this era IMO.

A&M is pretty similar to Ole Miss, they both jump up and win double digit games every 12 to 15 years. Then flounder around in mediocrity the rest of the time.

A&M last year was a fluke, not the norm. They are much more Ole Miss like than UGA or UF like.

When will OM make it to Atlanta?
Don't know, let me check the Greyhound schedule...

Their best chance will be when Bama and/or LSU are on probation. As Houston Nutt said 'it's hard to get to Atlanta.'

Once every ten years might be a realistic goal. Or that may be a little optimistic. You can have a pretty decent team and still be 3rd in the West.

It's not that far of a stretch if we continue to build from this last season. Yeah we went 3-5 but that could have been (yeah coulda/shoulda/woulda) 6-2 if we didn't let the losses to aTm(27-30), LSU(35-41), and Vandy(26-27) slip late in the game.

Don't get me wrong. It's going to take a lot of things to go right but we have LSU and aTm in Oxford this year. I don't see us beating Bama or Bama losing more than 1 SEC game so we more than likely won't make it but if we hang in there you never know...

I'm just trying to be optimistic here!

If we're going to do it any time soon it needs to be 2014. We will yet again return everyone other than some O lineman, and our OL recruiting has been very good lately. We would need some breaks like Moncrief returning for his senior year, same for Brassell.

That's the year though. Bama, LSU, and A&M will all be breaking in new quarterbacks.

Predicting anything further into the future than that is silly.
