You're 4-5, and one of those victories was against Jackson fricking State. You're letting that crocodile mouth overload that jaybird arse.
Have you looked at your schedule? 2 of your 6 wins will be against SE Louisiana and North Arizona.

I know that the state game is more important. But that doesn't stop me from hating LSU more.
I would hate us less too.

State fans are good people, and we own that rivalry.

Reb fans keep on thinking the egg bowl doesn't matter.

Not according to Pank Reb
He claims that neither State or Ole Miss can win with home grown Mississippi high school athletes.
And I still do. And modern era of college football is on my side.

Ok.
We're 54-22-5 since the game became the egg bowl.

It's a 60/40 matchup. The school name or the start of a trophy doesn't matter

we'd only won 6 games prior to the naming of the trophy.

I think you're getting too worked up about this. No one, including me, said the egg bowl didn't matter. But to us, the LSU/OM game is a bigger deal to us.
The importance of the remaining games, to me:
1. LSU
2. Tie between Tenn. and MSU
4.NAU.

Maybe its just me, but people I know that actually went to Ole Miss seem to think a lot more about the Egg Bowl than posters on here who think that the Ole Miss/LSU game is their super bowl.

I go to Ole Miss.
I generally think of LSU as the bigger rival.
That's why people yell Go to Hell LSU during the National anthem.
Back in the late 90's State and Ole Miss were both pretty good at the same time. LSU sucked under DiNardo and Curly. Since 2000 state has had 1 winning season. twice they had two win seasons. They had only gotten 4 wins 4 times in that 9 year span.

What does going to Ole Miss have to do with it? We don't have all those fans that didn't even go to school there. I went to Ole Miss and pretty much everyone I knew thought that LSU was a bigger rivalry than MSU. I live in Oxford and always have, and have been to Tiger Stadium 4 times and Davis Wade once. Guess thanksgiving could play a factor in that though

If Ole Miss fans want to think LSU is a bigger rivalry so be it. The bottom line is the Egg Bowl is a big game and a big rivalry game for a number of reasons and if anyone thinks otherwise they are retarded. Ole Miss will always be States biggest rival because it's an in state, SEC game with major recruiting implications from players within the state of MS.

Funny that you bring up the "history" of the egg bowl, but dismiss the history of the LSU/Ole Miss game - go back and check the record books for why this is a big rivalry game. Ole Miss is rival #1 to me - a lot of LSU fans will claim Bama is, but nobody would have before 2 years ago, so that's pretty stupid IMO - I can understand considering Florida our biggest rival too, but...
Try wearing an LSU shirt in Oxford, and you will fall in love with the gumps and turds by comparison.

50 years ago Ole Miss and LSU were much bigger rivals than Ole Miss and Miss State. When he thinks they are good or if they beat LSU then Ole Miss fan remembers that - otherwise they'll focus on Miss State as their rival (since they have more success against them)
