Makes more sense to throw down to first as a catcher than 3rd when going around the horn.

Yeah, I’m sure you didn’t do a lot of things playing high school baseball in Vermont or wherever.

Been throwing to first or third to start the horn since the beginning of time. Weird thread to start.

You either can't read or didn't play baseball growing up. Retard.

I said plainly after the third out!

I grew up in Alabama, so I played plenty baseball all summer. Wiffle ball, all that shite. Read the thread Mr 70 IQ.

I thought they started throwing to first base so the first baseman would have a ball in his glove to warm the infield up with the next inning. Are they still using same ball each half inning?

You tried to have a thread of discussion and you ended up with

No matter how much baseball you may have played, you clearly haven't played tRant.

Nobody gets what you're saying but I get it. Catchers are throwing the ball around AFTER the third out now. It used to only be after the first or second out. After the third out you underhand the ball back to the mound. Annoys me too bro. Looks dumb throwing down after the third out.

To your point, I'd throw it to 3rd, then he to 2nd, then he to SS, then hand the ball back to P. 1st base was never involved as I remember.

1st was involved when I played (also in Alabama 2004-2007)

What's the point in leaving the 1st baseman out of it?

It happened years past, but I've noticed it happening a LOT more this year. Not sure why.

Always amazed at the lack of reading comprehension on this board. The OP is clearly talking about the catcher throwing the ball back to the first baseman after the third out rather than rolling the ball back to the mound like its seemingly been done forever. Not sure why this is happening a lot these days, but it is.

On my little league team I remember throwing around the horn after strikeouts. And, in my senior league men’s baseball team (aged 44-51) we did the same.

When young players realized it’s more efficient to throw opposite their dugout and let the 1B/3B drop it on the mound on their way in

I don't know about it being more efficient, but this is why they they throw it to 1st/3rd after the third out on a strikeout. In reality, it's probably because they saw someone else do it and thought that it looked cool.
