Well, I just read the first few pages of this thread, surely you are capable of figuring that out.

I know some fans don't like facts. I presented them and y'all changed the subject.

you're a broken record man. he was close in 2002, 2005, and 2007 but whether it was players (which it has been sometimes) but oftentimes the situation leading to that were created by the coaches. he is the CEO of these teams. his job is to set them up. he gets credit for there success and the blame for there failures. individual plays have not been our downfall in 2008, 2009, 2010. him getting the big axe is part of the job
and honestly firing richt would not help uga in the short run. a new system, new coaches, new everything. but sometimes the best thing for both parties is just a new environment. richt has been complacent. anyone can agree with that. both sides get complacent and when shite hits the fans they try to catch up but sometimes its just better for both sides to cut loose. richt could go to another school with a fresh start and do great things. same goes for georgia.
i think richt must show improvement. what does that mean. winning 8 games in not it. he must make the SEC title or at least come to the wire. beating UF would go a LONG way. losing to tech will kill him. he needs to go 2-0 or 1-1 in our first two games. if he starts off 0-2 it will be very hard for him to recover. if uga was 9-3 going to a jan 1 bowl game then he has shown he has regained control and should be retained
the best possible situation is that richt gets this thing right and he begins to revamp our program so its on the same time scale as bammer and barn and lsu. those schools are on the cutting edge, where we were in the early 2000s, but now we are playing catch up more than creating distance from others.
i want him to succeed and remain. but if he isn't going to win then cut him loose

Not a big deal whoever did it. The penalty for it was to turn it off, that's it. I'm just curious. Natural assumption is AU but there are rumors, so.....

Let me ask you this. Who could UGA get that is better than Richt? An AD is not going to take a risk of replacing Richt with an assistant and him fail and he lose his job.
You want to know what the problem was in 2009.....Stafford and Moreno left earlier and Cox and King were overrated. 2010 we had a young team that didn't learn how to win early because of the AJ suspension.
I coach a basketball team that is one of the top regarded teams in the nation. We play 50 games a season against prep schools and JUCO's. I know from experience the toughest thing to do as a coach is to get young players mindset right after early losses.

my coach preferences are patterson or mullen. we'll see though. i understand it is tough to motivate but unfortunately that is part of the job description. also, players leaving early cannot be an excuse. just another part of the game. 2009 wasn't great but after what he had done it was acceptable for the most part. 2010 was not.
at any rate i am beat. good night all

I like Richt and want him to remain UGA's coach, BUT what you're saying is exactly what MANY people were saying when many Arkansas fans wanted to get rid of Nutt, hell one of our media guys went so far as to say that getting rid of Nutt would set the football program back ten years. We came out alright, and so to would UGA. Hell fire man, no coach is bigger than a program.

I don't disagree with this but I also don't see how it supports your general argument either.

you would be surprised what some coaches are doing at 3 AM. I will be glad to take a pic of my championship rings with your screen name on them right now to prove it.
