It’s college sports. Players talk smack.

Why did he yell at him when his back was turned? The pitcher didn't even see him do it, at least on the initial run to first.

Play with the bull and you get the horns, guy thought he was being cute with Mark McGuire

He tried quick pitching him then Jones proceeded to hit it +450 ft.

LSU players feeling pretty good about themselves. Like Tennessee last year.

Don’t think you can fault Jones for hitting it so far that even the pitcher wanted to turn around and admire it. And OP, Kentucky was doing a lot of bush league bullshite and had just quick pitched to Jones a couple times in a row. That’s why he was taking shite to him after hitting one 450

That's cause it took so long for that ball to finally disappeared behind the outfield fence.
Main thing that started it was Skenes is damn good. He strikes out a bunch of batters and he'll take a lap around the mound when he does.
From what I understand, Kentucky took exception to his mannerisms and the chirping started on Thursday. On Friday, Kentucky won and then their pitcher mocked LSU's crossed armed, home run pose.
On Saturday, I didn't think the first pitch to Jones was bad but the second one was definitely a quick pitch that got him to a 0-2 count. Pitcher needed a neck brace after watching his 3rd pitch get blasted. Jones also said something towards the mound after touching first base so it wasn't completely done at the plate.

I don't mind the batter talking smack, I just wish the pitcher saw him do it is all.

Why wouldn’t they? Should they be miserable like you? Or maybe everyone should be miserable like you?

You don't think #16 heard him? Jones really didn't hold back, especially with the 2nd "frick You!" Even with crowd noise, athletes can still hear well on the field. He was just 60 feet, 6 inches away.
That's why most of the time the dugouts and players can hear guys chirping when the fans can't.
Maybe #16 decided to stick with pretending he didn't hear anything from the 6'4", 230 lb. batter that just launched his 3rd pitch 450 ft. after quick-pitching him to an 0-2 count.

Love it. But do find it funny that LSU fans were all bent out of shape over some of the Kentucky players for lesser things
