Impressed with Kellen Moore
Posted by ButchJonesFB on 10/6/25 at 9:35 am
I am not sure if was by luck or by choice, but the Saints seemed to get it right with getting Kellen Moore over Aaron Glenn.
This team has steadily improved and been competitive now in 4/5 games they have played, and very easily could be 3-2 if we would've closed drives late in games.
With a rookie HC, you would like to see the team fixing mistakes and being at least competitive while losing because we all know that is the most likely scenario. Kellen Moore has the young guys playing well and the team being tough and focused each game. Very excited to see what the rest of the season and the future holds.

This thread is garbage.
You know what's garbage 0-10 in career NFL starts. "Clueless fans" News flash buddy, wins are the only thing that matters and this QB can't win.
Everyone, all season, was saying how we needed to see Rattler with a healthy team because last season he was given a bad draw (which I do agree with.) But after seeing him not be able to lead a team to a win in 3/4 games he's had chances in 4th quarter, it is over.
No matter how bad you think this team is, they have had chances to win. Rattler let them down.

We are winless because there's not a single position on this team that's above average.
And yet nothing changes the fact that this team in 3/4 games had drives in 4th quarter to take lead.
While I do agree the roster needs a lot of work, Rattler could have gone and won the football game. He didn't, and therefore no matter how you slice the cake, he is the #1 problem. Because while everyone complains about every other position, if our QB (THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION PLAYER ON ANY TEAM) was even slightly better, this team could be .500.
And while many of you, including myself, want this team to have a good draft pick. I'd prefer the team win. And when you have legit chances to win and are being held back very clearly by one player, it is the biggest problem.
Additionally, I am not saying Shough is the answer, but Rattler is not good enough and it is clear as day.
QB is Problem #1

I know I will get crushed by the Rattler truthers and folks that think he is our franchise guy, but he is very much the reason that we currently have no wins.
This team is 0-4 and in 3 of those games, had drives in the 4th quarter to take lead or at very least tie. As bad as we think this team is overall, that is crazy to me to think we could legitimately be 2-2 maybe even 3-1 with a better QB at the helm.
Some might say, "Well we wouldn't be in that position if Rattler didn't keep us in the game and play well." And while that is partially true, I do not want a QB to keep us in games. I want a QB to WIN us games.
Rattler NEEDS to be the reason we WIN games. Being the reason "we are not losing games" is such a weak and soft argument. This team has played well enough to at the very least have won at least one game. We are being held back by a guy who is 0-10 as a QB in this league. Quit defending him.

Honestly, yes it does. This team can quickly turn to sell mode and get rid of guys like Zion/Herb at deadline if things go south and now have the ability to free up room in summer and build around Fears/Queen/Maybe Trey?
We are not in a terrible spot at the moment. Many directions this thing can go. Only issue is Weaver/Dumars in the drivers seat...

It has nothing to do with being easy to please. I know this franchise is probably the most disorganized and worst run in all of sports and I have been a fan my whole life. shite is draining lol.
But I also can tell that there is more direction and communication with Dumars that we have had the last few years. He is not someone who is scared of taking chances and will make moves. I am also encouraged by his response to the Dejounte interview and his communication with him and the staff since.
It's a waste of time to beat a dead horse with all the negativity this organization has surrounding it.
HOT TAKE: Dumars Impresses Me
Posted by ButchJonesFB on 6/26/25 at 9:35 am
I'm very certain this will be downvoted and I do understand all of the skepticism that is coming his way after last night.
BUT
Listening to his presser last night impressed me. There is an actual message and communication being delivered from the front office. Something that I have not heard or believed for years with Griffin. Dumars is taking swings to mix things up and get guys who are polarizing and attacking players as he described. Will it work? Who knows and we are trained to believe it won't with how much we have been in the mud for years as fans.
We also were upset with the Dumars hire and rightfully so, it was chalk and there was no hiring process done by Gayle from what it seemed. However, somehow ignoring all of the noise, when I actually just sit and listen to JD, I come away impressed every time and I like him. I know people inside the organization (sales and ticket related) who say it is night and day better in there with the new leadership around. Take it for you will, but I am going to try and be positive about everything and let it play out.
As for the trade, yes that is a crazy and almost neglegent thing to do. But we will not know until we see what Queen becomes. Additionally, if things blow up again this year, one of Zion/Herb/Trey will most certainly be traded. That trade will probably net a 1st back for 2026 you would think. Not talking myself into the trade, but also looking at the bigger picture for what this FO may be doing.
Take over. Let's hope to new luck and positive vibes again this season.

Would be happy for Josh Jordan. Sucks to possibly lose him, but he's a great coach and more than deserves this opportunity. I trust that Jay would replace him with someone with a history of success.

This has got to be the worst color commentator I have ever heard. Poor guy seems shy and doesn’t have a clue what to say or add to the play by play. Makes you grateful for the guys we have game in and game out.

Finally ended up getting tickets for this season and wanted to know out of curiosity, how high up on the list do you need to be in order to even upgrade or change seats at all?
X (Twitter) Down (Update: Back) - Now down again

With X being down, I have realized how much of a habit I have of just clicking the app and mindlessly scrolling for information and sports news... but I can't stop trying to open the app even though I know it is down.
Any of you all struggled with relying to much on an app or limiting your usage?? X is where I typically get most of my news and live information so not really looking to delete it but god damn I got an addiction.

Looks like he had good numbers in the fall and all last year in JuCo as a Catcher.
Is he hurt? The fact that he hasn’t even played in some of these meaningless games is just confusing to me. Hernandez is certainly your starter, but him not even getting any ABs or starting meaningless games when Arrambide struggles is something.

Absolutely ridiculous that this shite happens every time with D1 Baseball. The Astros were literally streaming the games for free with the games this weekend in Houston. Kendall should get hosed for this shite.

Throwing more money at a dumpster fire program is not going to make McDummy learn how to coach next year!!
Missouri went 0-18 in conference last year and decided to spend money on NIL and will now be a 20 win team and hoping to play in the tournament.
Even if you do not want CMM, to say that investing more NIL into the program won't change anything is stupid and naïve.
LSU will absolutely be better next year because of this and I, for one, am excited.

It's literally a bullpen underneath bleachers, largely outside of the main view of fans except for the fencing behind it, and we have fans moaning and complaining that it is not "expensive enough". Fans literally cry about everything and it's laughable that this is even something that you all are up in arms about.

I'm of the opinion that this hire is meaningless.
The reality is this is a 2-3 year hire. We are one year away from contracts getting off the books and the ability to make signings while finally being cap compliant.
So no, this hire is not meaningless. If you get Kellen Moore and can use this year as a bridge year to get his scheme, philosophy, and coaches in the door, hopefully you can compete and start bringing more players in, in 2026 when you have the cap.
Kellen Moore would be a GOOD hire
Posted by ButchJonesFB on 1/27/25 at 8:28 am
I am currently on the boat of negativity with this organization and ultimately (no matter what coach is hired) believe Loomis and co need to go for the Saints to move forward.
But hiring Kellen Moore after all that has happened this offseason so far would be a fantastic hire. He is currently leading an offense to the Super Bowl and looking damn good doing it. Frankly, he has coached way better than Joe Brady has and it is not close.
This would give me a little bit of hope for the future and at least inspire me some that things are getting better. Let's be real too, he is (on the surface) a better hire than some of the coaches this cycle. Not saying I am not frustrated with this organization, but I am also not going to admit my exciment if Kellen Moore was the choice.
