something like 14 players are up for all SEC honors. That is a record for Arkansas.
Posted on 7/17/11 at 11:04 pm to HawgAlude

and yet LSU will be top 5. The flagship.

Arkansas top 25 in Attendance (with stupid Little Rock dropping our attendance by 30,000 total), top 10 in Coaching salaries, top 25 richest football programs according to Forbes.com, top 25 in merchandise etc.. Top 25 winning all-time as of 2010. LINK Arkansas #21 with 7 Ivy league schools removed. Oh, by the way, Arkansas has more all-time wins than Florida. Ole Miss is #35, with another 8 ive league schools removed ahead of them* and they are once part pride of the "Big Boy League", ha ha. What else do you want?
Rankings were when Hogs were in much weaker SWC. Boise has a lot of WAC wins. Once again, name a good team Hogs have a winning record against.

You obviously didn't read the thread. The SEC wasn't that much better than the SWC from top to bottom. Go back and read it.
The SEC was much weaker than now and Florida was dog crap until the 80's.
Texas A&M is #18 most all-time wins and Arkansas is at #21 and we still dominate the series against the Aggies.
After that we never play the Big10 teams and the top half of the SEC has more history what else do you want?

It's also kinda pathetic when a conference had only 10 teams and Arkansas has played LSU and Ole Miss more times than Kentucky has played Ole Miss or LSU has played Auburn... OR..
Arkansas has played Ole Miss and LSU more times than Georgia has played LSU.
Arkansas has played Ole Miss and LSU more than Georgia has played Ole Miss.
Arkansas has played Ole Miss and LSU more than Georgia has played Mississippi State.
Arkansas has played LSU the same amount of times Florida has.
Arkansas has played Ole Miss and LSU more times than LSU has played Tennessee.
The SEC had a PATHETIC setup back in the day, almost a complete joke.

Oh, and Arkansas did this while playing in another conference for over 75 years.

I had forgotten how weird the setup was until I actually pulled up some schedules from the 60's.
For example, in 1968, LSU played:
Texas A&M (SWC)
Rice (SWC)
Baylor (SWC)
TCU (SWC)
Miami (they weren't usually very good in those days)
Tulane (?)
Kentucky (SEC)
Mississippi (SEC)
Mississippi State (SEC)
Alabama (SEC)
Florida State (Peach Bowl)
I fail to see at tougher SEC schedule than what Arkansas played against in the SWC. LSU actually played as many SWC teams as they did SEC teams this particular year.

The evidence suggest their greatness is.... behind them as both the program and their current coach have not performed as well as they did before they joined the big boy conference.
If you take a look at the website that SunHog posted (and my link below), you should be able to understand how weak your argument is. For many years, until 1988, LSU and other SEC teams played a conference schedule consisting (many times) of only 4-6 conference games and did not play the same conference schedule year in and year out. Check out the schedules in the '60's and 70's and you'll see exactly how weak many of those conference schedules were for LSU. If not weak, they definitely weren't much, if any tougher, than what we played against in the SWC. Not only that, but many times 2 SEC teams that didn't play one another in the regular season would compete against one another in bowl games. In the SWC, we always played a full conference schedule, so there was no reason to play against one another in bowl games.
I'm not trying to flame, just making a valid point because we hear this bullshite all the time about how much weaker the SWC was. My previous post makes reference to just one of many examples historically.
LINK
Since the conference changes in the early 90's, the SEC has been much stronger. Yes, we now play a tougher schedule, as does everyone in the SEC.
