The Reid INT vs Bama was worse than the PP INT no call, IMO. Camera angle played a lot into the INT no call.

You literally can not tell who has possession on the Reid play whereas with Peterson he clearly has possession of the ball with not one but two feet in bounds.

Possession as in defined by the NCAA and nfl is not shown in a simple screen shot.

If you watch a video of the play, its clear all of this happened. It was a bad call, bad calls happen.

Secures control of a live ball in flight before the ball touches the ground, and touches the ground in bounds with any part of his body, and then maintains control of the ball long enough to enable him to perform an act common to the game, i.e., long enough to pitch or hand the ball, advance it, avoid or ward off an opponent, etc.

Williams has two hands on the ball throughout the catch. Reid gets a hand under the ball after Williams is down.

Possesion is clear. Williams received the ball and maintained possession through contact with the ground. Reid pulls it away AFTER Williams was down.

Again, the correct call is a catch for Williams or dual possession with the tie going to the WR.

The PP snapshot you are displaying doesn't reflect the complete possesion; he bobbled the catch through the movement and his foot dragged out of bounds before he secured it.

Both were bang bang plays. And, PP could have easily gone in his favor with no argument from me. But, any and every interpretation of the rules should have been a Bama reception.

Not really, it looks like they both had it which should go to Bama but when Reid came up with the ball, they were gonna give it to LSU.

I havent ever seen a single angle that shows him "bobbling" it, even the broadcasting crew at the time remarked at how he "ate it up" and their impression was it was a clear interception.

We both likely got away with calls but PP7 was more obvious.

Come on man... Williams hit on his back with two hands on the ball. Then, rolled to his right (still in possesion or at least dual possesion) when Reid ripped it away... ON THE GROUND.

It was a bad call.

FWIW. I thought PP intercepted the ball. But, seeing the screen by screen and live action of both, my point is that the Reid INT was a worse call at a more pivotal moment in a game.

That said, neither were game changers. Both teams had other opportunities. Very rarely does a W or L come down to a single play. I very much love Bama vs LSU. A big fan of each team.

I didnt disagree with any of this.

My opinion is that it was dual possession but when Reid took the ball away and came up with it, they ruled it in interception.

Bad calls happen to everyone.

The only shite I'll never be able to understand is the NOLA No Call.

At best its helmet to helmet on a defenseless receiver, at worse its blatant pass interference with an official standing right there.

I'll never understand it, havent watched much of the NFL since.

When he secured the ball was one issue, but IF Jones touched the ball before the catch may have been another factor.

If you look at your slow mo of the catch, Jones is out of bounds prior to PP7 touching the ball. Jones appears to touch the ball near simultaneously to PP7. Again, by rule, the ball would be dead as an ineligible player touched it prior to a legal reception of a forward pass.

Literally one of the worst calls in an NFL game ever.

There has never ever ever been a more blatant horse collar than that one against JFF. It is the definition of the foul. It cost A&M the game

That’s one of the worst calls ever in any sport.

Not worse than the call known in GT Folklore as "Jasper Thanks"

Once again Jasper Thanks from the bottom of my GT heart
