Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.

That's awesome. I was just in that same exact spot about 3 days ago when that view caught my attention. I only had my phone on me, so my pictures don't do it justice like yours do.
Since we're on the subject, do you know what building this is below? Pretty sure you can see it behind Century Tower in your pic

Once the final phase of the University of Alabama's Science and Engineering Complex is complete, it will look very nice. And it will be massive.
You can see, that it will have its own Quad, and I'm sure will be a gameday favorite for tailgaters.
All of these building have been completed in the last 5 or so years.

Very nice complex! If I have it right, I believe they were in the early stages of construction when I first visited Alabama's campus as a high school junior in '07.

That's University Auditorium, site of the infamous "Don't Tase Me, Bro!" incident.
Interesting factoid that may interest only me:
In the movie "Just Cause" a few Harvard University campus scenes were actually filmed at UF, including a scene in University Auditorium. Sledd Hall was also featured in the film as a Harvard dormitory. During the filming of that movie, they were very careful not to have any palm trees or other tropical plants in any of the shots. To further the illusion, they removed Spanish Moss from the oak trees in some of the scenes, because it doesn't grow in New England. I think those particular scenes were eventually cut from the movie. I was a student at UF when they were filming there.
Sledd Hall from inner courtyard:
Sledd Hall from outside (Found on the internet. I think this was taken in the 80s):

That is really cool, thanks for sharing. They have been doing quite a bit of construction in & around Sledd Hall the last semester or two. Someone was telling me last week that within the next year or so, they are going to be doing some major work on the Reitz Union. That whole building is an eyesore and needs a facelift badly.
