Thats what I was thinking.. with those 2 programs being historically good and finally get new stadiums they have to be the best in the league. SC just had an Open House on Friday for all the fans and Ill tell you thats as good as a 1st-class minor league park.

Baum just not the game but the atmosphere.

I've been to Baum, the atmosphere is good. However, you can't beat LSU when a good opponent comes to town and 7,000 drunk cajuns are in the stands. Also, the tailgaiting is second to none. I have tailgated all over the SEC and that is what I draw from the 10 parks I have been to.

auburn definitely has the prettiest

According to Rivals, Baseball America, and two other obscure sites I ran across last week, Baum Stadium is not only #1 in the SEC, but the nation. Sorry, USC and LSU, you simply don't top the list.
I'm not sure there is much to debate........

Baum Stadium is the palace of college baseball stadiums. Though many schools now are building new stadiums, they still are playing catch up with the Razorbacks. When Baum Stadium was erected in 1996, it was the class of college baseball. Not much has changed, as the capacity currently is 10,500 and luxury suites extend from the left-field foul pole to the right-field foul pole. Arkansas fans also pack the house rain or shine and provide a premier home-field advantage for their baseball program. Everyone aspires to have a facility like the University of Arkansas.

1. Baum Stadium-Prior to the expansion of Baum Stadium in 2007 this ballpark was the finest in college baseball. After the expansion it has blown well past any competition that it might have hadWith 9,200 chairback seats and 34 luxury boxes Baum Stadium has become the must see venue for not only college baseball fans, but fans of baseball at all levels. The green chairbacks give Baum a retro look, while amneties like a hot tub gives it a more modern feel. This beautiful stadium is surrounded by the scenic Ozarks, plenty of parking, and has easy access to I-540. In 2004 the Razorback fans set a NCAA Super Regional Record(since broken) with 10,027 fans in attendance and in 2007 the Hogs became the first NCAA team in NCAA history to average 8,000 tickets sold per game with 8,069. In 2007 the Razorback Nation lost PA announcer Larry Shanklin who led the Hogs to singing "Take Me Out to The Ballgame", followed by the Hog Call.

In terms of prettiest, duh the old box is not the prettiest. It's like calling Fenway the prettiest in the MLB. However, in terms of atmosphere the old box is best in the nation and it's not even close. We also top the nation in attendance. But, don't count out the new box with taking it in terms of best park. These things were written before the new box has been finished. Hopefully we can keep the same atmosphere as the old box to go along with the new structure.

Baum.
Every national publication that takes the time to do a piece on them comes to the same conclusion (see links above).

Attendence records close to bottom
LSU beats Arky in total and average plus the new Box will hold more with the number one team on display. LSU should take it again.
Plus, The new box isn't even done yet. How can someone possibly rate it yet?
Also, it seems to me that people rate Baum so highly on size alone. imo, there are a couple of parks(from pictures I have seen and parks I have been to) that have way more character than Baum.

3 years ago Plainsmen park was voted as the nicest park in the nation. Auburn, UGA, Bama, and USC are the only ones I have been to and Auburn's was the nicest to me. O&B glasses off. I didnt like USC's at all, but that whole campus is setup terrible IMO.

You do realize The new stadiums at LSU and USC did not exist at the time of those surveys, right?

It may be a matter of taste, but I would have to put Carolina Stadium at the top -- slightly ahead of LSU.

It's really kind of futile to argue who has the nicest stadium when they are all THAT nice. It comes down to your opinion/perspective.
Posted on 2/16/09 at 11:24 am to SpringBokCock
I don't know, I just like the Italian architecture of the Box and the LSU campus. It makes it very unique, and brick is just bland and unoriginal to me. However, the inside of the Sarge looks beautiful.

Impressive, nicer than many minor league professional stadiums.

Never been but I heard Ark's is by far the best. Can't wait to see how our's stacks up against theirs.

There's nothing special about Ole Miss's stadium. It may be new, but it's pretty ugly looking in the way they set up the seating.
