I don't know. I do know it's depressing as hell to see half of your team hit the portal for no apparent reason (other than money, I guess). Then you see a new influx and you start to get your hopes up even though you know nothing about a bunch of them. It's like watching a pack of dogs regurgitating their lunch and then eating it again.
I don't know how it won't affect the development of a wide swath of players.

Exactly but I’ll say this one of the great things about college sports is knowing your players and following them year after year. I could name every starter and most of the back ups, now I have no idea who is even in Alabamas roster. That is something I miss about what college football has become. Even in the NFL you get to learn your draft picks and follow them for at least four years before their initial contract is up.

Sure is, but at some point we're going to get some guardrails put up. It may take 10 years, but it is coming eventually. I, for one, will welcome rules put in place. It will make the game better.
