as much as I hate to say it Texas as a national brand will have the opportunity to take players out of LA. The inability for Texas to actually develop players since Mack Brown left is why I would love to watch teams in the SEC curb stomp them in the near future. Texas is a mirage of the Mack Brown era.

Its different when you are the only major university in your state. And then that state produces more nfl players per capita than any other state. We can't take everyone. Problem had been we have missed iut on a few that panned out pretty good in the past decade that would have put us over the top.

No but it will be harder for us to take kids from Texas now. We have an advantage over Texas in recruiting, because we’re in the SEC. We always steal some great recruits from the state of Texas.
Now the playing field will be level, when it comes to recruiting in Texas, and let’s be honest, every Texas kid dreams of playing for the Longhorns. Texas may get the advantage again when it comes to recruits out of the state of Texas. Kids in Texas want to play in the SEC, and that’s why they’ve gone to out of state schools like LSU and Bama. Now they might start considering staying in state, because they can now play for their team in the best conference in all of CFB.
This is all about recruiting. Texas’s recruiting has gone down over the years because the Big 12 just hasn’t been as good anymore. They’re losing kids to LSU, Bama, and their in state rival A&M. Texas joining the SEC gives them the nod over the Aggies again, and they’ll be on the same level as LSU and Bama when it comes to getting kids out of Texas.
OU’s recruiting hasn’t been as good either, especially recruiting defensive players. They know they need a good defense again if they ever want to win another natty. Going to the SEC helps fix that for them.
