Agree.
If the season can't be played in the fall, they should skip the season altogether. Then pray we can have bball after Christmas.

I guess I haven't heard the proposals just yet but why into July? Right now its goes 4 months (Sep-Dec), and spills into a 5th month because of the playoff. If you started in Feb they could work it out so the post-season is in May?

I have not heard any proposals - but starting in April lets you avoid disrupting March Madness, which is huge. If they start in February, that's baseball and basketball essentially canceled for football. The SEC fans minus Kentucky might be OK with this, but other conferences maybe not so much? Also, football in February in places outside the south sounds just as bad as football in July. Although I have to admit your proposal sounds less awkward overall. I really don't think there's a graceful way to do this, especially for just a one year thing.

Spring for most of the U.S. occurs in March/April so you'd be looking at best at the season starting in early-mid march with the season wrapping up around may/june and any championships and/or bowl games wrapping up in July.

A February start would most likely mean season wraps up late April/ mid May. But you'd still have to deal with championships and bowl.games lasting until possibly the end of june or fourth of july
