Reb,
correct me if I'm wrong, but in my experiences, south mississippi is a cluster frick of college fanbases. I'm not sure if it's because of short traveling distance through MS, from the LA border to the AL border, but it's like I can never assume anyone to be a State fan or Miss fan in that area.
However, they are all Saints freaks down there. Some more than the Saints fans living in NOLA.

I've been through this area before, too. I agree. Saints on the coast = big time .

Why, if you don't mind me asking are you 25-30 years old ? They stuck with me because it was one of the first super bowls I remember watching.

Missouri is obviously Kansas City and St. Louis. The real fans are KC fans. But then, I guess you'd have to be a REAL fan to back the Chiefs.

Little older than that, but I lived in the Bay area for a few years and just became a fan. Never had a strong allegiance to any other team so I hopped on the 49ers bandwagon in the Seifert/Mariucci era

Nice! My theory = 25-30 year old love 49ers and Cowboys because they were constantly in the super bowl and it was the hip thing to do. Kind of like the Miami Hurricanes in the 90s.

I don't remember anyone hopping on the Bills Bandwagon though.

Have to love misery to hop on the bandwagon

1st and foremost 49ers fan.
Broncos are second.
Edit: Before I am asked I am in my 40's and became a 49er fan as a kid because of my father. A lot of tough years too, but we got payed off for our loyalty and patience.

The dudes I do buisness with in B'ham grads of both Bama & Auburn are only casual NFL fans who are likely to bandwagon jump depending on where who from their alma mater lands in the NFL draft

I would strongly dispute that. Most East Tennesseans don't like the Titans cause either they think Vols are the only team in the state or they only cheer for Manning led teams. People in West Tennessee are butt hurt that Memphis didn't get the Titans. Outside of Nashville/Middle Tennessee I would say there is a small fan base in Tennessee. Also, once Jim Haslam bought a minority share in the Steelers lots of Volunteer fans jumped onboard. Fickle bunch for sure

I'm in North LA. I'd say Saints/Cowboys, whichever one is winning...fricking fair weather fans. I, personally, am and always have been a Packers fan.

You are spot on. I was born and raised in HBurg and it is definitely a diverse group of college fanbases. A ton of LSU with it being only 2 hrs away, a ton of OM with it being a big medical town, I know and am family friends with alot of State folks, and then of course you have the Mustard Buzzards - bless their lil hearts. Recently more Yallabama fans have sprung up....wonder why??

You are right about the Saints fans too. Really the entire state is Saints fans sans some of the douchers from "Memphis" (aka Southaven and OB) that rep the Titans. My dad lived on the coast for 5 years and if you didnt know any better you would think it was the Mississippi Saints, literally a saints sticker, flag, etc everywhere you look. It's fricking awesome.

A few years back, Brees made an appearance in Gport and a friend said he "thought they were going to have to bring in the national guard."

WHO DAT

remember when picayune was making a "push" to bring the saints there prior to Katrina?

I think many Arkansas fans follow any team with a former Razorback on the team.
Raiders=DMAC
Cowboys=Felix
Jags=Matt Jones, until he pulled his shite.
