Details. Also, he is great at recruiting BIG linemen on both sides, which produce dominant fronts. The only downfall is that the conservative approach leads to some close games during the season that can result in losses. But, when you have good leadership and a team that is together, Saban's teams are great.

What makes some CEOs better than others? or what makes some car salesman better than others?

The boy just has "it".

His attitude.
He's damn serious and he has a proven track record.

It's that simple.

I agree, he has a relentless attitude and I've seen first-hand how that has translated to our players. The players have taken on his personality, they want to dominate the opponent on every play. There is no doubt that he is in control of every aspect of the program.

Just about every post on here hit it. Detail-oriented, drive, demanding that his players develop a solid work ethic, etc.

I have no doubt the he has worked on the plan to beat Florida every single day since the day after the '08 SECCG.

Discipline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!He instills discipline at all positions. Run the ball play solid defense and wait for the other team to make a mistake!!! Which they normally do. It all starts with being disciplined though!!!!!!!!!

He has the unique ability to be tough on his players, but get them to buy into it & know he will make them the best they can be. He is a work- aholic as most coaches are, but he has a knack for surrounding himself with great assistants, great recruiters. The other teams fear his rep, & I don't care what anyone says they should. He is a very nice man if you have ever talked to him, & I don't see where he had much choice to leave LSU...Miami was gonna keep him on that dang jet until he got his price. Damn I wish he was back at LSU (no offense to Miles, but Saban is better). Allright Bama, I admit it, I am jealous...maybe someday he will come home to Baton Rouge. BTW, I will have to pull for Bama in the Championship game, SEC & all, so don't screw it up! Roll Tide ( Lord forgive me)!

This.

EDIT: PLUS, he can put together complete, logical sentences in front of a camera and is actually very interesting to listen to.
